Let's close this.

1) Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is the best accomplishment in the history of the human race.

2) When in doubt, see 1).

This should settle it nicely.

No, no, not in every discipline.

And surely not better than the real world items, that are modelled (which in part are human accomplishments too)....

As I am also a developer of geodata based applications since many years, I know the technology and the possibilities very well (e,g, I am the guy, who made this MSFS proof-of-concept in 6 lines of code 😁 ), so I dare to say that there is no other global digital representation of our earth which is better than MSFS is. Please point to the other product if you think thats wrong. My latest internet inquiry for alternatives just some minutes ago was again and as expected not fruitful.

Probably the only two companies in the world capable of modelling the entire world in 3D in as high detail as MSFS are Microsoft and Google. I’m not so sure  Google models sceneries outside cities in high detail and in 3D though, and also clouds and weather systems.

Your suggestion that there is a better 3D model of the earth than what Microsoft achieved is more or less limited to Google.  I don’t think any other company other than Google has the satellite & photogrammetry data, computer resources, and budget, to model the earth like Microsoft has in 3D, and that level of detail.

Now if Google has also modelled 3D forests (and 3D trees), and 3D vegetation, cloud formation and cloud movement, weather systems, daytime and nighttime, accurate star location and star movement, etc, that MSFS has, that I would like to see.

Pictures, such as the pictures from Google Street View, do not count since pictures are not 3D models.
