PSXeecon can't find addon airports

Recommended Posts

Hi Nico,

I have a problem with the P3D version of PSXeecon. I doesn't find my add-on airport anymore, neither in automatic mode nor in manual mode. It used to work fine until some time ago (I already have added 161 add-on airports), but it doesn't find airports which I added recently. Unfortunately, I can't recall which version I was using when the scan of the addon airports worked.

Attached  is the log file, maybe you can point me in the right direction?

Best regards,
Dirk

PS: I'm using P3Dv5.3 with all hotfixes

Hoi Dirk,

That is strange indeed.

Look in \info\AddonAirportsLog.txt, maybe that gives you a clue.

Hi Nico,

I think I was able to isolate the problem. The path to the stock airports in the parameter file must not be empty. After I added a valid path there (it can be anything, by the way), all specified add-on folders were scanned and files written. You can see the difference in the attached log.Interesting.... it appears that the whole section was skipped before.

What does the path to the stock airports do, by the way? When I removed the stock airports provided by the installation file, no stock airports were found (so I put them back in).

Anyway, I am happy now because even all tiny ORBX airports have been added to the addon files as well, so my addon list should be complete. 😊

Thanks for your great tool, I'm using it almost every day.

Best regards,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

Glad you got it it working.

The stock airport path parameter plays no role if you have a \stock_airports folder  in PSXseeconTraffic...

It certainly has nothing to do with add_on airports generation...

For new installations then stock_airports_path is obsolete, because the setup program will install the stock_airports folder with 9300 airport files.

So I do not see how you have solved your problem, but never mind, it works. Geniet er van .

Holy cow. I just saw this post. @schepma you are 100% correct! This is the solution. I had to insert the path to my stock airport into the parameter and VOILA .... all 16 add-on airports are now shown. Thank you for the solution @schepma

@kiek as now two users of P3Dv5 have reported this issue, perhaps you may want to look into this.

I am a P3Dv5  user myself and I do not need to use the stock airports path to find addon airports.

It is certainly another problem. It would still be nice if you could post your Log txt...

Ni Nico,

on my system it is reproducible.

If I add a value to the stock airports section, all add-on airports are found and written.
If I remove the entry, no add-on airports are found.

Very strange indeed... but anyway, this is just for your information. If you want to let me try some parameters or need more info, just let me know.

All the best,
Dirk

PS: I posted both log files above

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for your info. It looks like a bug.

I am on vacation (Terschelling) and have no access to my computer. Will look into it after June 4th.

Regards,

Nico
