The Fenix EFB is so much better when you use it on a tablet!

Recommended Posts

The EFB experience is just something else when you use it on an iPad/Talbet or even your phone browser.

I think because the rendering is a lot quicker outside of the sim.

But I think also because it just feels more "seamless" and cool to be able to start boarding from your tablet while you program the FMC..

I dont have Fenix, but I am curious how this works.  I have an old Ipad in the drawer but how do you connect the two (PC to Ipad).  My PC does not send out an wifi signal.  Just curious.

The PC and iPad just need to be on the same network.  My PC is connected by ethernet cable to the home router, and the iPad connects to the Wi-Fi.  Open a web browser on the iPad, type the address of the Fenix A320 PC into the address bar. It is http://192.168.1.151:8083 on my PC.

The tablet is hosted on a webserver so you just open the address: 192.168.0.9:8083 on your device and you have it!

It depends on what IP did the router assign to the MSFS computer. Just to be sure, open a command propmt, type ipconfig, press enter, and take note of the IPv4 address. This is what you need to enter to the tablet/phone browser, followed by the :8083

It's great to be able to use it on my iPad. There's seems however to be a small glitch. When I use another app on the iPad then swap back to the Fenix app, it takes some fiddling around for the app window to reconfigure itself.

You will get multiple ip addresses when you type in ipconfig.  You want the gateway ip.

No, not the gateway one (that's the router), but the IP address: that's the one that belongs to your PC.

No, at least not yet.

I don't think it it is likely it will ever happen. Aamir said he will negotiate with the people at Prosim, but I doubt they'll ever allow without the price of the Fenix having to go up considerably for the extended external devices license.
