When is it being fixed ?

Recommended Posts

When I go fly, after about half an hour my frames drop from 35-40  to even 9 ! Simply unflyable...And that is since SU9. Is this going to be fixed ?

I don't see a lot of other complaints about bad performance like this so this might be an issue on your own system.
I have not seen large performance drops. I have my framerate capped at 60fps and that's what it usually stays at, even on flights lasting a few hours.

Have you created a ticket at Asobo's Zendesk? Sometimes following their (canned) suggestions actually work.

I would first choose a different aircraft and fly in a different region to check whether it is related to a specific addon.
If that doesn't solve the issue disabling all addons might be a good test whether one of these causes the issue. Disabling XMP also might help since MSFS seems to really stress the memory and bring to light any issues these might have.
Previous versions of flight simulator were often designated as the ultimate stability test for any PC.

Do you use AI traffic, such as AIG or Simple traffic?

I’m not experiencing this. Try emptying your community folder and try again with the same flight.

I was experiencing the same problem.  I turned off v-sync.  No idea why it was doing it but I'd be perfectly fine for about 15 mins then in the blink of an eye I'd have single digit frame numbers with a very long load time.  Even the menu system was choppy.

Do you have toolbar pushback? If yes, remove it and try again. It is now known to cause memory leak issues

Yeah, simple traffic from aerosoft. But wasn't a problem before.

I have a feeling that this FPS drop after time has something to do with having AI traffic active. It's like there's some kind of memory leak in the handling of the traffic. Could be wrong though,

Lets keep an eye out, so we can narrow it down.

Alright, this may sound crazy, but I found this trick in another forum a few days ago.

If your FPS start to drop after flying for a while, try switching your airplane lights off and on again (just hit "L" twice). This solved this entire problem for me.

Seriously, I'm not making this up.

Certainly weird, but  with software as complex as this everything is possible. Some of the variables in the sim seem to  be shared between both AI and your own aircraft. Anything you have switched on might be amplified through AI and cause all kind of issues. The more memory the longer it might take before it becomes an issue.
