GPS Piloting

I have not done this for a long time.I load a flightplan.Open up the GPS, which has my flightplan displayed.I flip the navigation toggle from Nav to GPS.I know I can change the heading for each leg of the flight manually. But can that be done automatically? I thought that could be done.If so, could somebody tell me the steps to take after the above?Thanks.Abe

In real world of flying (I am not sure how it is done in MSFS) your GPS can either work in LEG mode or OBS mode. LEG mode is simple - you fly from waypoint to waypoint and your GPS unit automatically cycles to the next waypoint. In OBS mode the unit will not cycle to the next waypoint and also will let you specify the course you want to fly to the next waypoint which you then enter manually. In addition, Garmin offer a 107mb free downloadable GPS trainer on their website - it's pretty good for learning how to use the GPS without messing up a flight. There are trainers for various models and if you really want to master the GPS I highly recommend downloading and using. Andrew
