June 13, 20223 yr For a long time my MSFS install has been mostly stable and have not experienced a lot of problems many have suffered from. However the past few days its has been a nightmare. First issue is now every time I first launch MSFS after a few seconds it says it can't find my account and that I may need to log into the MS store even though I am actually logged in. Usually logging out of the MS Store and logging back in fixes it. 2nd issue is I seem to be plagued by connectivity issues and MSFS wants to switch to offline mode even though my connection is stable. Usually just hitting ignore or whatever its not actually an issue. Occasionally I get no warning but when my flight is finely ready my scenery looks like it did back in FS98. After fighting this all morning today I launched MSFS in another attempt to fly and when I tried to set up a flight from TOS-BGO TOS airport option was completely absent from my database. After this I gave up for today! Anyone else getting the same or similar issues above? I don't think its anything on my end but a server issue at M$. I am also starting to think this whole online connectivity thing is a really bad idea. When it works it works but it leaves you SOL when it does not!
June 13, 20223 yr Connection has seemed flaky today, store / updates kept dropping out. But managed a couple of flights OK.... Price you pay for many Terrabytes of scenery data I guess..... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
June 13, 20223 yr I'm on the US east coast server and experienced the same thing in a flight this morning. Finally just switched to offline mode, finished the flight and found something else to do. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
June 13, 20223 yr Author I am actually wondering if its some sort of global internet issue at least today? Since creating this thread I have been having issues with a few email servers and a few banks trying to log in. Just really slow and sometimes timing out. A lot of "Page Cannot Be Displayed" errors. Sometimes you get in but then trying to access something else internally goes blank. Some news sources also running very slow or not at all. Nothing on the media that I have found but at the moment it may not actually be the fault of MSFS. I tried to report it to my ISP but all I get is a busy signal. Obviously not the only one experiencing a problem. Just tried to watch a You Tube video. Starting playing okay but stopped caching about halfway into the video and won't proceed. Closed my browser and tried again and it worked this time but then just get "Page Can't Be Displayed" when I tried my bank. A real schizophrenic internet today. My modem even just randomly rebooted itself so obviously something going on!
June 13, 20223 yr It's all the Halo players flying the Pelican! They thought this was an MMO apparently! Chris Camp
June 13, 20223 yr Very odd.. I know that all VATSIM users are not flying in MSFS 2020 but there is currently over 1100 pilots and controllers ONLINE. Fortunately, I've seen no issues as you describe. Hope this clears up for you. Quote

June 15, 20223 yr Author Ended up fixing my issue. Turned out to be my modem was going bad or more like my ISP changed its architecture and my modem was not really working well with it. It was after all about 8 years old. So I called my internet provider and picked up a new modem. My speed went from 175 whatever up to 700 whatever that means. Seems a bit faster and so far MSFS is rock stable on me! The updates are coming in a bit slow so likely M$ servers are slammed but at least its staying connected. Earlier today my connection kept on cutting out during the update and I would look at my modem and it was automatically rebooting itself.
June 15, 20223 yr I have no idea about the Microsoft Store version.. I have never had any problems with the Steam downloaded version. Steam is usually pretty stable and good with updates.
June 15, 20223 yr so the op luckily found the issue. it still baffles me how in most cases when something goes wrong asap something external (ms servers, bugs etc) is mentioned as a cause, instead of doing a proper, trying to find out what the issue is, process.
