I really want AI traffic to improve.

I have maybe 17 flights now were AI traffic has absolutely improved.  I hope it continues it's been essentially spot on.

This is very interesting. Just looking at KBOS where 04L/R are active. I can see 3 aircraft lining up in an orderly fashion - no spinning.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. One aircraft just disappeared from the line and another one started spinning.

Are you sure you don't have any addons running that might cause this? I never saw a live traffic aircraft "spinning" on the ground so far.

I saw this regularly w/ RT online traffic in busier terminals...until recently, FWIW.  I will do an acid test later today at a mega busy terminal and see if it holds up.

According to Flightaware, KORD was the busiest airport last week with 12755 total arrivals and departures. I'm currently spotting at KATL which traditionally has been on top of the lists in terms of passengers. With Live Traffic there's not much happening right now, local time 11:12AM.

all AI in MSFS on or offline is still bugged, nothing "repaired" by Asobo  you can't repair it, if it's not there. Asobo has still a lot of work to do on this.

What is the source of these comments spoken as authoritative, not opinion?  '...you can't repair it, if it's not there...." Huh?!   For me it's been perfect now for 17 straight flights in and out of multiple terminals, and this was not the case previously.

ok if it's for you ok. but I miss;

sid star procedures

correct flight levels

spacing

runway vacating

no dancing

bigger parking spots

etc, etc etc

I do sid star procedures.   Spacing has been vastly better than in the past.  Runway vacating was problematic and common for a very long time, and now I've seen none now for some 18 flights.  Dancing?  Spinning?  None now for 18 flights.

What do you "miss" that from?  Every Flight sim and every traffic addon ever released has been some sort of variation of "bad" in some way or other.  what you are describing sounds like the dream that we all have, not anything that's ever existed.

To me it appears hit or miss depending on the airport.  No matter the location, it can take 15-20 minutes before departing AI will leave the gates and taxi to the runway.  After that, the experience varies.  At KBNA for example, I haven't seen any issues.  At KATL, however, the departing aircraft will taxi to the runway to take off as usual...and then just sit there without actually taking off.  Then it just times out and disappears after awhile.

I will try KATL and see if it breaks the improvements I've seen.  It was so common not long ago to have landed planes fail to exit the runway, but this too has been gone these last 18 flights or so.

Fair enough. I've been under the impression that AI traffic behaviour is the same whether traffic is from Asobo live or AIG.

Real-time traffic: takes vector data from a live source and places matched objects into the sim

AI traffic:  Uses algorithms and code to try to formulaically place traffic in 'sensible' dynamic locations, across thousands of different airports, with thousands of different layouts.

Very different - and this can clearly be seen in the sim because, as the OP pointed out, RT live traffic is performing much better these days, and AI traffic is still a mess.

Well I'm no expert on this subject. Just interesting that @Kaiii3, the developer of AIG is saying that although the source is different, "both share almost all of the internal AI System".

Anyway, I stopped using Asobo real-time traffic after I got AIG traffic controller working. Using RT live traffic it takes quite a while before there's activity at airports - this happens much quicker with AIG.
