Fenix CTD (10% of my flights)

Featured Replies

Hi all - out of 32 flights in the Fenix, 3 have CTDs. Is anyone experiencing this? They typically involve long flights during cruise (4+ hours)

No, I've had as much in the Fenix as I had in the 737 (1 each), and it's probably just MSFS like it always is. Definitely no special Fenix-pattern for CTDs.
Good luck getting to the bottom of this! (If there is one)

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Had a crash today, but I noticed to have forgotten to update for one of the world updates for scandinavia, I think it was rather related to that than to the fenix.

100 plus flights in the FBW A320N. 1 crash caused by Navigraph and one fixed by the community 1 hour later. Sorry, I don't have the payware A320 but I wish you luck.

I had the same problem and posted my workaround in the Discord channel. See here:

"Well I seemed to have resolved my CTD's and AP disconnects. I did a complete uninstall of FenxiA320 and removed any left over liveries from the community folder and any Fenix A320 remnant's left over in the SIM folder: (Drive......Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages) folder. I then rebooted and reinstalled. I also went into msconfig/Boot/Advanced options and increased the number of cores to match my cpu max cores. I Rebooted and went flying...no problem. I had two successful flights for 2hrs and 4hrs with no stutters, no CTD's and no AP disconnects. I hope some of you can find this useful...Best!!"

I would have suspected one of the liveries you had.

I've had no crashes

I've probably done 12-14 flights in it now including one today that was over 4 hours and no crashes. Less than optimal fps at times but not a crash.

I have had non with the Fenix A320, or the BAe 146, but a couple with the PMDG 737, but i think that was more a MSFS issue than the plane, as it;s mysteriously disappeared again.

In case anyone is curious, between SU10 + Fenix update I haven't experienced the performance issues or CTDs I did previously so far

The only time my sim has crashed lately has been with Fenix. We'll see if it happens post-updates.
