A real neat freeware helo

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to write a little post about this unique freeware helicopter:search "Piasecki H-21C" in the avsim librariesIt has a fantastic VC and nice sounds and model as well, and a working wiper blade!! The only problem I have with it is the external view is funky....like the zoom is weird and the pan is strange. Let me know what you think!

That helicopter is more affectionately known as a "hup".That comes from it's designation...possibly military.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

What a great bird and a blast to fly. Thanks for pointing it out!

This was always my favorite helo to fly in FS9 too. I'm glad they brought it over to FSX. Does anyone fly using the light bloom effect. It's cool to see the bloom effect on the metal of the vertual cockpit.

How are you all getting it to work? I've installed 100's of a/c in FS over the years and this one has me stumped.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Place the files in the effects folder into the effects folder of FSX and you should be good.

I got it working. Third time's the charm I guess.Did the exact same install, too. Talk about weird...Anyway this is a great helicopter. The VC is great. I could not figure out how to turn off the engine, however. Just cutting fuel didn't do it for me.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian
