Preflight info

Where can airport info be found in FSX. What I'm loking for is the ATIS and ILS freqs for my intended arrival airport along with correct runway heading. If it's stored in the sim somewhere where i can write it down before flying that would be fine. If not in FSX is there a location where it can be found elsewhere.

Freqs can be found on the ingame map (just click on something and you will get all the info you need) but I always look up the freqs on the GPS Information page when I am nearing my destination: no need to write it down because you can look at it while flying. I do not like the map because it pauses the sim. You can find EVERYTHING you need on the GPS while flying! The default GPS is much more than just a moving map!I never know where I have to land until ATC or ATIS tells me where to go. I don't think this information can be gathered anywhere else in FSX. As said, I do not bother with this all until I am nearing my destination. Isn't that more like it is in real life too? Don't know, really... When I don't use ATC (hardly do lately) or don't have ATIS information I just choose the runway that is closest in direction to my takeoff runway. I never have weather changes on, so... that's easy. If I REALLY don't know which runway to take, I just pick the one that's in my current direction. ;)

That doesn't work if your flying the LDS-767. It has a working FMC but no GPS or Map. The FMC and the INS in the overhead will show Lat and Lon. If I can at least tune the ATIS I can get the active.

fscharts.comI've been using them since I don't have FSnavigator for FSX. Not the best but it works.

You could also use the map that's in the FSX flightplanner (so before you even start a flight) to find the ATIS freq of your destination (even if you don't use the planner, which I guess you don't). Don't know though if you can listen to the ATIS of the destination while you are still on the departure airfield: never tried it myself.

Don't forget, in the LDS and PMDG, you can lookup arrival and departure info for any runway in the FMC. This is done selecting any desired ruwnway and checking the Rwy ILS and HDG info on the Init-Ref page.

OK I did find the map but it does pause your flight. Thanks for the hint on the FMC. There is still a lot of stuff in there that I'm still learning about it.I found some Charts at http://map.aeroplanner.com/mapping/chart/aptrpt.cfmI use FSBuild for planning. The one thing I have noticed is arrival info and STARS are not being exported to the FMC from FSBuild. So now I just get all my info in preflight. If I file the plan with FSX ATC it doesn't go by the STAR anyway so I just follow the vectors given by the ATC anyway.
