NON-Turbojet IFR

Recommended Posts

OK so I am curious about flying a NON-Turbojet (DC-6 for example).  Most STARS and SIDS require or have a stipulation that to AC must be turbo jet.  Not to mention the altitude restrictions would often be to high for many non-turbojet AC to be able comply with.

Does P2ATC have anyway to distinguish between AC types?  If not what should the settings look like as far as ATC options page (un-check ATC assigns SID STAR etc.) when flying a non-turbo AC?

If no SID//STAR is assigned will ATC assign vectors for departure and arrivals?  If used will these vectors be checked for terrain avoidance?

Thanks DAVE!

Yes, uncheck the ATC Assigns SID/STAR.  P2A is not aware of the aircraft type so you need to set it up in Config.

P2A will give a heading to turn to after reaching a certain altitude with the takeoff clearance.  Just turn to that heading and then intercept your course with the GPS....or manually if no autopilot on board.

Vectors on arrival will depend on how well you're lined up with the final for the approach and whether or not you have a transition to the approach.  You might just get descent instructions and then clearance for the approach.

All went as you described,

I am having an oddity with the ATC voices.  I am using AM FLIGHT as my call sign and 2/3 of the time the voices spell it out. A M F L I G H T 1234. The other third of the time it is pronounced correctly.

I am using the latest Beta: 2.6.3.2 Public Beta 4

Thanks!

George

Change it to AM Flight.  Many voices spell out anything in all caps.

If you are flying as an airliner, you should create a new airline in TaxiMnt.

Will do.

I used the AMF code from airline lookup in config and it auto fills AMFLIGHT.  Will change in TaxiMnt.

Thanks
