Besides, to get it, one should be aware of the context…which those who were not there at the time, won’t get. Edited July 5, 20223 yr by ha5mvo Oh. Some one had already beaten me to it

July 5, 20223 yr Hey! My Bobby R 757 post from page 1 has mysteriously gone missing. 🤯 Mods, is this a technical issue, or has one of you seriously decided to delete a bit of mild satire directed at PMDGs infamously slow development cycle?? It's gone, but I got to laugh at it before it met its early death and the mods can't take that away from us. 😂 Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. Yeah, I made an “update” post from Bobby R as well, regarding their 757 progress. It was at least mildly amusing. Apparently one of the mods didn’t think so. Meh, censorship sucks. It’s not like this is the most serious thread in the world, what with the Ferd references and all. <shrug> C’est le Avsim. Probably more to do with how much has been posted in the last weeks/months ad nauseam in every thread, especially since there's already a post about their predisposition of missing planned schedules right before the hidden one.

You're basically arguing that because you personally don't like a post it should be erased from existence. That's censorship. It's hardly a big deal in this instance, but the concept behind your statement is rather concerning. Healthy societies don't censor satire, though dictatorships do. Hey, it's just a random internet forum so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, but the principles behind the matter should give us cause for reflection. I said what I assume the mod's reasoning is for hiding your post. I'm not talking about what I like and don't like. If the reason is what I assume it is it's an attempt to prevent this thread from becoming yet another back and forth about PMDG. Every PMDG thread and even non-PMDG threads lately have been filled with all kinds of opinions about PMDG that are public and you have also posted your Randazzo satire several times without it being hidden. Going from one post being hidden when you have already made the same point before anyway which is still visible to talking about society, censorship and dictatorship is quite a dramatic take of the situation me thinks... C’est le Avsim 😉.

However, as I also said, it was a mildly amusing post that was receiving positive attention before it got nuked. It was definitely on the milder end of the scale in terms of satire, it wasn't even particularly mean-spirited towards Bobby R. Maybe he even would have smiled if he read it (actually, no, I don't think that would have happened). For what it is worth, I definitely don't think that that post should have been wiped from existence, and - speaking as someone who has been around here for rather a long time now - I wouldn't want to see those kind of random deletions become a trend. That's not the kind of of online space in which I would choose to spend my time. Hence my comments.
