Mike, my last plane was actually a level d 767, and missed all of this somehow. I think it is a bit like a family here, maybe gets lost a bit sometimes amongst all the technology and things. Well in all fairness, that post was from 8 years before you even joined. I suspect some members here might not have even been born yet. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

Yeah there’s a lot of missing people in that topic that are now shown as guest or guest w/name. For some of us, this has remained a lifelong or long term hobby. For others, some get bored after a while or move to something else, and some unfortunately pass away. Time does fly though, I can’t believe I joined here in Sept 2003, but have been simming since the subLogic days in the 80’s. Doesn’t seem that long ago. As far as Ferd goes, he hasn’t logged in since March 2019. His last post when someone asked where he was he said “I’m in Pencilvania” 😂😂😂 Pencilvania, classic Ferd!! July 6, 20223 yr I think that I joined AVSIM in June 2001 (even though it states 2002 March 7 in my profile), but I did not know of that "Ferd" thread until this week. That may be because I concentrated exclusively on Flight Unlimited 3 at the time, so I was mostly active only in that section of the forum. I think some of the guests ARE still around. I believe this has to do with the server crash that had wiped out large portion of avsim at the time. looking up, I managed to find my own posts as “guest ha5mvo” dating to way back than.
July 6, 20223 yr I’m listed here as joining 2010, but there was a similar account before this one that I lost the login to a long time ago. Also a Sublogic guy, on the Commodore 64. And a few attempts at simming on the Vic-20 before that. I also reflected on the names in the Ferd thread, not a lot of commonality between that crowd and this forum. It surprises me a bit, simming is better now than it’s ever been so i would have thought the OG chaps would still be into it. MSFS is delivering a lot of the features that I would dream about back in 1984, it’s a great time to be a flight sim fan (well, unless you want to fly a 757…) 🙂 Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777.
