FSX pre-SP1 activation issue - is your WSH enabled ?

Recommended Posts

PROBLEM SOLVED - might help othersHello I came across the FSX Deluxe activation issue - pre-SP1I had the option to retry ot activate via telephone but both were keeping failing. :-(Keeping Googling I read in a site - don't remember where - to download the Windows Installer clean up wizard http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301Trying to install this tool I got a warning that windows scripting host (WSH) is not available. :-hmmm Then, I remembered that once, I used the XP-antispy utility that had as an option (amongst others) to disable Identification of PC on network and to disable windows scripting host. :-samuraiI enabled windows scripting host (WSH) and PC identification but at the same time (wrongly) I followed the registry change suggested in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927007/en-uswhich changed my hard drives letters :-8 while a usb stick was attached, so use with caution!I had to remove any swap file re-assign drive letters and put page files back. :-abductAfter all this trouble, FSX activation worked. :-jumpyIn short if you have FSX activation issues fist check if your WSH is there. Afterwards, try all other tricks/tweaks.I hope this helpsSamhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg______________________________________Flight Simmers never get drunk........
