TENERIFE AIRPORTS (GCTS GCXO) from MK Studios

Recommended Posts

Has anyone purchased the new Tenerife pack from MK Studios yet? It comes with both the North and South Tenerife airports in one bundle.

I was wondering what the quality is like, especially compared to the Sim-Wings/Aerosoft Tenerife South?

Rather frustratingly, you cannot buy the airports individually from MK Studios, so anyone like me who has already bought GCXO is unable to buy GCTS as an individual airport 😞

I haven´t yet because I have the Aerosoft Verion.

But: I have had this at P3D and I can tell you, that this developer has really great scenery with lots of detail and FPS friendly. I was often at tenerife and from the pictures this looks really GOOD.

For 2 Airports below 20 EUR this is surely a save buy.

Just my opinion, based on many sceneries I have from this developer (in fact ALL, except this one)

Wow!  Thanks for the heads-up!  This is right up my street, as I love the Canary Islands and I also like these kind of bundles for the islands, with extra details and POI's added.
It certainly looks good value, and I have only heard good things about MK Studios.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio!

Has anyone compared the MK Studios GCXO with the new one released by WOLKENBLAU on both simmarket and flightsim.to?

I have a few MK Studios sceneries but from looking at the images, Im thinking the WOLKENBLAU one may look better?

-I do wonder if MK Studios producing two airports in a bundle has meant that the quality is a little reduced? Plus I already own GCTS from Aerosoft, so the deal for two airports is not so appealing

Hi there,

I know this thread is a year old, but I think someone might stumble upon this when searching for these airports.

I bought the MK-Studios airport bundle for Tenerife (GCXO, GCTS). Now I just bought the same airports but from Sim-Wings and Just Flight. Why? Because they look much better. The colors in the MK-Studio ones are off and the surroundings are less detailed.

Bear in mind I'm exclusively talking about the visuals here. I don't have the experience yet to judge if one is better than the other when it comes to technical stuff, like ILS and so on. But if they are made with the same level of care as the visuals, it's probable they still beat MK-Studios.

Another reason NOT to buy MK-Studios' versions is that as a bundle, you can't uninstall just one of the airports in case you want to have just one from a different vendor. I really do regret having bought the bundle within MSFS, but as a beginner (actually coming back to the sim after many years) you're bound to make some mistakes, I guess.

One thing potential buyers of GCTS should be aware of is the gates have all been renumbered in the last year.

I found this out when planning a flight in P3Dv5 Concorde to GCTS and the gate numbers in the supplied Navigraph data in Concorde didn’t match those in the MK Studios scenery purchased a few years ago.

So yesterday I spent an hour editing the AFCAD to get the airport up to date. MKS have previously stated they would not be updating any P3D scenery. Maybe you chaps will be more fortunate.
