Flysimware's Cessna 414 2.8.0 update

Recommended Posts

The 2.8.0 is out, but the install notes still say to uninstall. Last update mentioned you didn't have to do that anymore, the new installer will uninstall for you and that nullified having to give install code.

Anyone tried installing over the older version yet?? without un-installing 1st??

I’ve used the plane since day 1. I’ve always uninstalled first. Takes all of 10 seconds, and yes I know the current iteration is SUPPOSED to not need an uninstall but that has been promised before and in the end a full uninstall and reinstall is the best course of action here I think.

Added bonus is with the new stalker you no longer need to provide your serial number at time of install.

Thanks, I was overthinking, and was wondering if new installer actually didn't do as promised, I'd have no avenue to provide serial #

^edit, I'm going to see if it does work by installing over.

The new installer actually provides for two steps:  uninstall and then install.. you do both in sequence, so you still do both.

No need however, to go into the Control Panel first for the uninstall step.. the wording in the description is not that clear.. 😉

Yep, just installed over the older, it worked as advertised.

No, it exited beta / was officially released last week.  I'm really surprised no one had a thread about that here.

Really? I only bought it three days ago and it was still at beta price.  Looks like I got in before the price increase.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Well, maybe it was released Monday or whatever.  I can't remember exactly.  It was recent.  And STILL I am surprised no thread on release.

After seeing Into the Blue Simulations review I'm tempted to get this. Instead of the Milviz 310R.

Get both if you can. They serve different roles and both are amazing.

Haha don't tempt me!

AFAIK the 414 has better performance and a pressurized cabin and might be more suitable if I ever end up doing a round the world tour.

I use the 414 a lot, the 310 not so much. To each their own!

There will be no price increase, the dev already posted that 2 weeks ago in the Discord.
