KSAT to TX55 (Bat Cave Field), H135

Recommended Posts

So, on my original flight around KSAT I'd spotted a strip called "Bat Cave Field", and @enright posted an explanation and a link for me, about what is meant to be the world's biggest bat colony. So with the help of Google Earth and the site link provided, I not only went back to visit Bat Cave Field, but found what I think is the actual cave in MSFS. Not modled, but still fascinating to see it there.

So I've done this as two posts - this one is a more or less standard flight in the H135 from the very fine KSAT out over Randolph AFB (which also looks pretty good) and on to put down at TX55. Second post is to the cave itself, via Paramotor. But first . . .

The actual Bat Cave (Bracken Bat Cave) is a little ways off, and we'll go there in the other post.

San Antonio area is looking pretty good here and you're certainly making the most of it.
