Sitka scenery: any opinions?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Recently saw this release of Sitka PASI: https://secure.simmarket.com/mokui-pasi-sitka-airport-msfs.phtml

I've been wanting a good Sitka scenery since forever, but I wanted to hear some opinions first. Especially to ask whether the jetway moves or not? The feature list doesn't mention it and none of the pictures show a connected jetway so I'm assuming that it's static. Confirmation would be appreciated though. I also believe DCDesigns had mentioned a while ago that they would be working on Sitka... Not sure if they still will though, with this now released.

I was there in real life in mid-late June and this addon looks pretty darn good to me.  Also just took a look in Google Earth and it too is confirming.  For such a nice work the price looks very fair.

Sitka is tempting, except for the fact that the mountains east of there have inconsistent Bing texturing which makes flying in the area less than satisfying.. 😟

I’m happy I bought it. But I hear your point. In theory Alaska should be amazing in msfs. But the limitations make it not that much better than earlier sims. Perhaps worse in some cases

Alaska is a mixed bag, there are a few good areas in Alaska with good textures, but I agree that a lot of it isn't so great.
Europe and the Eastern US are the best PR scenery in general, and South America has some good stuff as well (though slightly more inconsistent).

Thanks all for your reviews. I decided to buy it and see. I'm still assuming the jetway is static, which is kind of a bummer - nobody made any mention of it in this thread, but that's my guess based on the screenshot son Simmarket. I'll see for myself soon enough.
