Unfortunately the server is offline....

The website had been hacked and I was forced by the ISP to shut it down.
I'm not sure when/if it can be reopened.
As you know, my involvement during the last few years was very low, only paying the bills.

Also I really can't tell when I'm able to resolve the issues, if at all.
Don't expect it anytime soon, I simply don't have the time.

That is all the news/info I can give you right now.

Dear Egbert,

we appreciate your efforts in keeping the SAS VA alive for all these years. I'm pretty sure that if you put out the request for a donation, many of us would donate as we understand that maintaining the website and server could be costly. Also, there are possibly some pilots that would be able to offer assistance in bringing the website back online.

Just my thoughts.

I wish you all the best with my fingers crossed for a resolution of this problem.

All the best,

Dusan S., SAS 860 (since 2004).

Hi Egbert. Thank you very much for your answer. I back up all the fine words in Dusan post, and hope also for a resolution of the problem. Really don’t wish to change VA after around 20 years happy flying in Scandinavian VA.

I really is missing sva-va, and hope it will return to us one day. In the meantime I have become a member in Star alliance virtual, which I can recommend. There is a oppertunity to fly out from many more countries aside Scandinavia

Hi Michael,

Nice suggestion, but really not necessary/wanted.
It's not about the money (otherwise I would have stopped the SVA a long while ago),
but it is about the time, or better: The lack of...

By today standards the software (web UI, app and backend) is rather outdated.
I simply don't have the time to rewrite/update the code right now and in the forseeable future. It is a huge effort.
Also setting up a new server including all required software is a huge task. I'm not even sure if I still have all source code.

So for now, the SVA is in a holding pattern and I'm afraid I don't know when/if it will resume to the next waypoint...

Thats a shame Egbert but i can understand the situation.

Hopefully others may reach out with time and competence to you.

Thanks Michael Moe

I can absolutely understand why it would might be the end, even though it makes me somewhat sad. But all things have to come to an end at some point in time. I was wondering if there is anyway to get the flight hours? I am a but curious as to how many hours I racked up eventually :)

Tried the internet archive but it can't access the pilots pages unfortunately.

take-care

Fully understand Egbert. Time is going fast. I joined about year 2000 and has a many many joyful flight with this VA.

Many of us old boys is really old and some of us has lost interest also for flightsimulation. The life will go on..
