GSX PRO is out

Think of it as the same way to search for liveries for add on planes. Say the PMDG 737 comes with a bunch of repaints but doesn’t include the one you want. You have to search around the .net on different sites to find the repaint you want. You couldn’t expect PMDG to include a utility to find all other 3rd party repaints that they didn’t include. It’s the same  type of thing you’re asking GSX to do.

I do not think that is a fair comparison with respect. Whether or not I have download a livery the plane works as intended. But if I don't download a profile GSX does not. I just can't understand what the issue is here? All I want is for GSX to have a simple system where profiles for any addon I have installed can be downloaded and installed with one click. Why is this too much to ask?

Feel free to create such an apparently simple tool yourself. 😉 But anyway, it is too much to ask because of what Virtuali posted. Did you actually read his reply about multiple possible files? In the time you spend posting about this huge problem you could have downloaded hundreds of profiles and install them. Problem solved. It's not that you don't have time for it apparently.

My advice: give it a rest. I myself don't own GSX but even I am getting a bit tired of this discussion. It's a waste of AVSIM resources. 😉

And yet you are not tired enough to prevent you from commenting, My comments are constructive and will improve the addon for all users should he decide to implement my suggestion.

@jarmstro Hope this may help you, it really is no harder than installing liveries when you get your head round it. Download the files you want from .TO Then go to your C Drive ( Or where your  Win installation resides) Then select Users > Folder Your name > App Data > Roaming > Virtuali > GSX > And finally MSFS (you drop the Config files File with little gear on it) into there and that's it.

It seems long winded, but it's second nature after doing a few.

If you create a shortcut to that specific GSX subfolder and put that shortcut in the folder where your downloads usually end up it isn't long winded at all. Download, drag to shortcut, done. ;)

I really don’t understand this fuss around downloading the GSX profile. I mean they are the same as scenery or liveries, why should they be different now? It just no brainer to download and copy. The whole thing takes few minutes, shorter than me writing this post 😅

The fuss is:

1) Trying to remember the developer who made the airport.

2) Finding the correct/best file on flightsim.to if available.

3) My Users > Folder Your name > App Data > Roaming > Virtuali > GSX  folder is hidden in Win11. And I'm guessing it's hidden for a reason.

It is hidden to protect the user from themselves.

Typically, you won't have to worry about the data inside the AppData folder – that is why it is hidden by default.
It is only used by application developers to store the necessary data required by the application.

If you are that type of computer user, then a flight simulator that requires the manipulation of files is not for you.
On no account should you visit Flightsim.to or any other site that does not provide a one-click installer.

I marvel at the lengths that have been reached to find a criticism of GSX, once the CTD furore had been proved to be baseless.
Apologies are still due from numerous contributors for the wide-ranging but baseless negative feedback that they took the opportunity to add.
Such expended energy, if directed at reading the manual and setting it up, would have solved all of the alleged problems by now

Dead right, but I don’t hold any high hopes of most of them admitting they were wrong …

Talking about the manual - Umberto made it available for download yesterday:

You actually don't *need* those profiles. In almost all cases GSX works fine out of the box. Of course if you find a profile, then is super nice to have.

Presumably then, you must dislike any plane with SimBrief integration and prefer to manually download the .pln file and fiddle about placing it in the correct place?

The fact that I would like to see the process of profile injection into GSX automated is not a criticism, it's a request. Or rather, it's something I would expect to see for the price.
