Getting CTD recently more often

Recommended Posts

So odd... I don't have any problems at all (yet)! I wonder what's the percentage of people having these CTD's...? Guess we will never know. I suppose I am just lucky. The weird thing is that it seems almost impossible to pinpoint what the problem may be, at least for us users. Afaik even people with brand new clean installations do get CTD's? I don't have many addons, just two planes (Fenix A320 and Milviz C310), Navigraph (not the app, only use it in the Fenix EFB), FSHud and that's it, no scenery addons at all. I don't have the latest nVidia driver. I run Windows 11. As I posted earlier I did three flights yesterday without any problems and I even had a browser open in which I watched streaming video's. I also had Little Navmap open and TrackIR... so it's not that I am doing everything to keep my system 'light'. It's an odd problem...

While I am typing this I remember I have all possible traffic set to zero because FSHud takes care of the traffic. Might that be something...? Maybe people who do get CTD's should disable traffic. I also have MP completely off (if I recall correctly). Since a lot of people think it has to do with the servers this might be something worth investigating or trying?

I am in SU10 since Friday, today I have deleted all in Community like Navigraph app and airacs that was creating an error in the navpath, not starting navigraph simlink and closing the fs2crew command center that start with FS20 automatically too, only the Redwing 1049 and GPS pms 750 in community, in S10 something of that was interacting bad with 1049 that was starting bad in the runway ready for takeoff and ATC not beginning well, and that not in SU9, weird, without this some minutes ago I had a "mem could not be read" a few minutes after takeoff, and now a second flight with GPU MEMS and CPU underclocked, I will try so. Now in the beginning of a 7 hours flight apparently it is going better. In SU9 I was having problems of CTD an mem etc..

Has anyone noticed this in the past couple of days where the sim takes longer to load into the world and when it does the scenery hasn't loaded correctly? That has happened twice for me so far and I've only seen that within the past week while also having the crash issues. The fix is just to go back to main menu and load again.

If it is related to the how the sim gets the scenery for the world - I wonder if its related to the crashes we've been seeing.

Yes, I once had a "faintly" earth texture and thought I did something wrong in addon manager.  I believe bing is the problem.

I had four CTD in five flights this week. The only successful flight had a bad beginning, it was a night flight SAEZ to SCEL and i noticed that the ground textures were wrong (no taxiway markings in particular, airplane taxi lights were on/off), I went to online services, checked out from all, save and apply, and recheck them all (except online traffic and multiplayer), and everything was back to normal. I always use online weather and AIG offline traffic.

The flight before this one (KMIA-SAEZ more than 8 hours with the HD 787-X) was uneventful until I was taxying to the gate where I suddenly got a message indicating that I "reached a limit" (or something similar) and CTD.

I am about to start a new flight and - regardless of whether my textures are normal or not when reaching the FLY stage -, I shall do the same as indicated above, just to see if this makes a difference or not.

The above demonstrates that this issue is most probably linked to a server issue. I also wonder if the Internet connection plays a role or not (following some unknown changes from Asobo), mine is 100 Mbit/s. Never had a problem before.

Great, and now I had a BSD PAGE_FAULT_IN_NO_PAGED_AREA, and I did yesterday a rebuild of the pagefile.sys, rollingcache, deleting content.xml, temps folders etc. etc.

In SU10 DX12 NVIDIA, maybe the memory problem that ASOBO is solving with NVIDIA and DX12? I will try maybe with DX11.

I had this, Nvidia related apparently, I am in the last Nvidia drivers 516.94, and I did it with a DDU installation some days ago, anyone watch something more?

Edit: It says I am in w10 and I am in W11 clean install of some months ago, totally updated.

That has happened twice for me so far and I've only seen that within the past week while also having the crash issues. The fix is just to go back to main menu and load again.

If it is related to the how the sim gets the scenery for the world - I wonder if its related to the crashes we've been seeing.

Seen this too and also experiencing CTD for the first time. With most of my weekend flights crashing out. A couple of times the aircraft has spawned in to a green wilderness with no textures at all. No airport buildings in the default airports, except isolated jetways, sat all by themselves on untextured landscape.

Yes I've had that too. It's clearly a server issue.

I had one of those yesterday but it was after doing a rollingcache deletion and without the rollingcache after, and I supposed that was for that, I enabled again rolling cache and I hadn´t it again.

I've had several CTDs recently especially after starting up one of the WASM aircraft and waiting for it to compile. Usually they are okay after a second sim start.

Yesterday I did a 5300 nm non-stop flight in the PMDG 737 BBJ without any crashes though. I used the PMDG auto time compression at  4, 8 and 16 x but settled on 8 x. From time to time I would reset to normal time, do a step climb, fiddle with the flight plan, switch from full screen to windowed mode, look at the wing views or outside view, switch to LittleNavmap to check progress, browse the web and it was all solid until near TOD when the sim began to stutter a little. RAM usage for the sim was fluctuating between 15 and 16 Gigs but settled to 8 gigs on arrival. I didn't check VRAM.

The flight was from FACT to EGLL so right across Africa to the UK. I used the save flight option several times in case of a CTD but ended up not needing it. I'm on the beta.

Did you get any blurred ground textures during your flight across Africa ?. Since last week I know of several people here in SA , have that issue.

Hi,

Another CTD. It's the second in less than 24 hours with very few third party add-ons loaded and different flight from the last CTD. No living weather, either.

This is happening since the last mini update 1.27.16.0.

Regards.
