4 classic commercial airports

10 glider airports

12 new aircraft

14 heliports

20 classic missions from the franchise’s past

So much free stuff. This is unbelievable. Thank you Microsoft and Asobo !!

At this point no other flight sim comes even close. It literally has everything now.

So now we will have the Curtis Jenny.

But for folks who would rather fly more 'modern' planes, Lionheart makes the Jungman. Ants Aircraft have announced the Tiger Moth. And Carenado has the Waco.

Yes, and Jorg did a great job handing her the question cards off camera without being seen!

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Has anyone tried subtly suggesting to MSFS that there are some famous aircraft that were created AFTER the 1930s ?

I agree. Too many clunkers and rust buckets.

I do not think it makes much sense for a 3rd party developer to make all these old aircrafts, so I am happy Microsoft takes care of that. It makes sure we got the entire history covered.

I just watched the live stream and heard something that I hadnt seen mentioned above (forgive me if someone already pointed this out).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mf84rmZ3rQ&t=1522s  (30:56 mark)

Jorg seemed to imply that MS did their OWN photogrammetry acquisition for these cities?  As in NOT something coming from BING maps, but they used their own resources?  Is this true?  Did anyone else hear that?

Thats a pretty significant statement if MS is actually flying aircraft with PG cameras just for flightsim.  Or when he said 'we' was he actually referring to BING?

.. ok self edit... Bing IS part of MS so forgive my naivete...

BUT.. does this mean that the flightsim team has some influence over where BING is focusing data collection.. that would also be interesting.

I would probably think it's more of a "We" as in Microsoft seeing as Jorg is Microsoft staff. I could be wrong though but it would make sense and then both teams at MSFS and Bing can then take advantage of such data.

He said they flew with MSFS over those cities and captured what's below.

Anything about live weather visibility simulation? My guess is no.

You guessed correctly!  It is all aimed at the extra content for the 40th anniversary.

I look forward to SU11 and hopefully a few more steps forward.  SU10 beta is pretty good now, so could be released as a proper update soon.  I class the DX12 issues on Nvidia cards as a separate issue, and might be addressed by Nvidia in a driver update anyway.
