Tempted into buying Xplane 11 - Uh!

Recommended Posts

It's the way flightsims work these days... Look at mfs, relesased 2 yrs ago and far from finished or stable.

No problem with that because a simulator not being closed for further development / refinement is actually a plus !

Really. Few month maybe to get worst bugs ironed out. Not years. They certainly wouldnt release it if it was that bad.

small EA games/sims on Steam are years in EA, i hope you're right👍wasn't XP11 a few years in EA/Beta?

I'm going to have to do something like that as my request has been refused!!    4 hours of fiddling about with 2 reinstalls goes over their limit apparently.

So I'm back to square one.

refund window is under 2hrs👍Steam won't refund you now

You can get refunds beyond that window on some occasions if there's technical issues that didn't allow you to start a product, perhaps widespread issues that are recognized. Sometimes people have gotten refunds after 10+ hours if the product was plagued with issues.

Asus TUF X670E-PLUS | 7800X3D | G.Skill 32GB DDR @ CL30 6000MHz | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 2TB + 4TB + 4TB

The way they advised me seemed to ignore my explanation and just quoted that 4 hours was over the limit.  As you all know 4 hours can fly by chasing a petty issue.

I will say though that this should be a stable FS - been around for years - and does not behave in a way that makes me think ooh, can't wait for 12.  I can and will.

If anyone is interested I am still getting nowhere with the calibration issue with the trimwheel.   Using the alternative - a button on the yoke - doesn't either.  It just gets worse.

Grrr.  (A fairly quiet and tired grr as I have MSFS and FSX and they work better).

Are you following all the calibration steps during the calibration process?

Hi Murmur,

Sorry not to get back to you especially as you were trying to help.

I carried on experimenting but got nowhere and yes I am following the steps.  In the end the situation is that the red band goes blue when I move the trim wheel fully and I named the axis 'Trim Wheel'.  The blue button remains unavailable but the wheel works!

Because I have other problems with it I have decided to try to get a solution on the other site dedicated to Xplane so thanks for your interest.  I hope I can get it sorted.

Hi Rog943,

Rather than use the request refund option, you can send a special request email and explain in detail why you'd like a refund, and many folk have had success with that outside of the 2 hour limit

Nope, XP11 public beta was released end of November 2016 and went official at the end of March 2017. Four months.

I have a feeling this time it will take a bit longer though.
