September 15, 20223 yr Read all about it: https://stormbirds.blog/2022/09/12/lead-engineer-departs-great-battles-team/ This should bode well for MSFS. Been a fan of IL2 Great Battles (aka IL2 Battle of Stalingrad) and Rise of Flight since both launched. Both of those sims attention to flight modelling is superb, thus I imagine that this is a solid win for MSFS (but unfortunately a loss for IL2). Hope that this move works out well for all concerned. Perhaps a new MS Combat Flight Sim is in the works... 😉 Edited September 15, 20223 yr by TheFamilyMan CPU: AMD 9800X3D PBO MB +200 CO -25| Motherboard: MSI MAG X870e Tomahawk WiFi | GPU: MSI RTX 5090 Ventus 3X OC | RAM: G.Skill 2x32GB DDR5 6000 cas 30 | M.2 SSDs: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2T, WD Black SN750 M.2 1T | Hard Drive: WD Black HDD 6T 7200 | Optical Drive: LG Bluray writer, internal | Cooling: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO | Case: Fractal Design Focus G | PSU: NZXT C1200 1200W Win 11 Pro 64|HP Reverb G2 revised VR HMD|Asus 25" IPS 2K 60Hz monitor|Saitek X52 Pro & Peddles|TIR 5 (now retired)

IMO making entertainment from something that IRL caused such great suffering (but was something that was unfortunately necessary) seems, in a way, somewhat immoral. Exactly the reason why I "love & Hate" IL2... I can't play it without thinking how strange it is to get satisfaction from the evocation of something so bad ... This is good news for ASOBO / MFS. Finally, they get someone in the team comparable to Austin. Beautiful thoughts from him, so excited he’s joining Asobo: Over the years, the subject of my main interest has always been and remains flight itself, its swiftness or, conversely, quiet lightness, its grace, freedom of movement in three-dimensional space, perfection of aviation technology and bewitching beauty of the surrounding world - whether it is dizzying and stunning with its energy aerobatics in a fighter, or the art of soaring in a hang glider among mountains and clouds, alone with nature. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

September 16, 20223 yr Yet another move from MS that takes a fat dump on the "it's only for pretty graphics" narrative. I wish him all the best at Asobo. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
September 16, 20223 yr Another huge, huge, win for MSFS. This is where having a bigger budget is a huge advantage, and we MSFS users benefit from this. The competition to MSFS needs to step it up, at least with features that apply in the consumer market space. Unfortunately, their low budget is showing in their respective product and it’s quite disappointing, IMO. Edited September 16, 20223 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
