UK SECURITY ALERT

Recommended Posts

It's climbed here in the states too. No liquids, no electronics on flights in the US now too it seems. Unless the news reporters are exagerating a little in their articles.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. For US domestic flights it's liquids and gells that are banned from carry on so far, though electronics may not be far behind, the TSA bulletin is a little vague on international flights. Ian.

The threat level at all UK airports has been raised to 'critical' following the disruption of a plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight. Critical threat level means "an attack is expected imminently and indicates an extremely high level of threat to the UK". There have been about 18 arrests overnight. There is major disruption and delay at aiports and passengers are being advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Cabin baggage is not permitted and items such as mobile phones, cameras etc also not allowed in the cabin. Only essential liquids such as baby foods) are allowed in the cabin and passengers are being required to taste them. It is reported that plot could involve mixing liquids in-flight to create an explosive.Heathrow is only accepting inbound flights that are already airborne. Brussels airport and Lufthansa have cancelled all inbound flights to the UK.
