Recommended Posts

The Game Ready driver is released.  With respect to MSFS, this is what I see in the notes:

Game Ready For Microsoft Flight Simulator’s DLSS 2 Update

Microsoft Flight Simulator is a stunning, critically-acclaimed flight simulator that marries realistic recreations of popular planes with an accurate map of our planet, and regular free updates add immersive hand-crafted detail to the world’s most visited cities, airports and regions.

Developer Asobo Studio has just launched Sim Update 10, with the integration of NVIDIA DLSS 2. To take full advantage of this technology, our new Game Ready Driver is a required update. So be sure to download and install before you taxi for take-off.

I'm not a fan of switching between Studio driver and Game Ready driver.  This person had issues when switching from Game Ready driver to Studio driver and had to switch back to the older Game Ready driver.  Just watch out, if you run into issues, be ready to do a clean driver install (ie. DDU).

Is DX12 a requirement in order to utilize DLSS ?  Or does it also work with 11?

Does the Game Ready driver have the memory optimization for DX12, I think there was an issue with that?

Interesting notice. I've just updated to 517.40 (studio driver) some days ago. I'm curious to see if there is any positive difference to the 517.48 (game ready driver) version.

Thanks for the heads up. I absolutely love the fact that our hobby and platform is finally being taken seriously by NVIDIA and the gaming community in general. We get special treatment and they finally are starting to officially benchmark the hardware on the title. This is awesome.

It enables automatically when it detects the correct driver.

Ah cool! So I will give DX12 a try now.

Also, is this DX12 optimization with this new driver ONLY for DLSS?

As I have no idea what a Studio Driver is but have been using it since it was released I will install the new driver just because I can.

Asobo doesn't have to enable anything.
