Steam Gauge Overhaul - Analog King Air out now

Don't get me wrong. Rule Britannia and I love Just Flight. But at least, please, include some liveries for the plane at this price. I can't be doing with  hacking files to get a livery to work. It's too dear. It's just too dear for what you get. How do I get out of the plane at the end of a flight? The doors won't open!

Check here regularly. There were a bunch of Black Square specific liveries added to the Caravan and I expect many to show up for the King Air. These are drag and drop into your community folder (or add-on linker). No editing files needed.

Got her up in the air, eventually. Thought I'd nail it on the first try without following the checklist. Ended up resorting to it as I had all sorts of annunciator warnings 😅

She flies well. Autopilot is easy enough to handle, but I was fiddling around a bit before I managed to increase/decrease climb in IAS mode. Currently en route to ENRO Rost in Lofoten, weather is stunning and the sun is setting. Couldn't be happier right now 🙂

Oh, I really recommend the sound pack from FTSim+. Gives the engine sounds that extra turbine sound punch, which default sounds lacks.

JF and Black Square have always been clear that there were no changes to the "physical" model of the plane and things like openning doors were never on the agenda.

Finished the maiden flight. Quite windy at nearly 30kts. That beta range helped shorten the landing length. Got "RVS NOT READY" on the annunciator panel - anyone know what that means?

Even managed to not damage the engines, something that took me a while to learn with the Caravan.

Hopefully some nice liveries will be out soon on flightsim.to.

Would be reverse that you were using.  No beta range according to the manual.  For liveries just have to alias them to this plane.  I haven't looked yet but will after lunch.  There's some real sharp ones at the To

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |

Yeah, I don't think I'll fiddle with getting liveries for the default version to work with this one. I never managed to do it with the Caravan; the instructions were too cryptic to me.

Beta range is not inop, just like with the Caravan. However

Whilst moving the power lever below idle in MSFS still has a noticeable affect, the MSFS simulation of this is greatly simplified, hence the statement in the manual.

That message comes when the Propeller levers are not in the MAX RPM position. It is especially useful for landings, when the prop levers are not in full rpm it will take more time for the propellers to reach full beta and reverse rpms, delaying the reverse slow down action.

Thanks! I noticed on the second approach it came on as I lowered the gear. I didn’t increase rpm past 1600.

I'm trying to get Byron's King Ranch working but I think I need to look at the interior model path and or file still...hehe.   I will figure it out though!

As I said, brings back memories of the Aeroworx King Air - but it's Asobo's default model - no doors, windows opening, cabin views (need to install a mod to get cabin views), etc.

RVS NOT READY

Illumination indicates that prop levers are not in the appropriate position of HIGH RPM/LOW PITCH with landing gear extended.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

For those struggling with getting the avionics incl. TDS/TMS to work: remember to put the engine start switch back to off once the engine start is successful. And generator to reset then on. And of course select the desired avionics over by the co-pilots side.

EDIT: No, I'm still struggling. Avionics going on and off, and the engine gauges are acting weird. Back to the checklists.

EDIT2: Got the starter switch in the bottom position which is "starter only". It should be in the middle after engine start (I think). Sorry for the confusion.

Got the third party liveries working yay.  I was trying to make it more complicated than it had to be.

Manual says : beta range not properly gated or simulated. So it's simulated but not properly 🙂
