RealAir the only ones with accurate spin and slip?

Recommended Posts

They are the only ones I have seen advertise spins and slips as a feature, so are they the only ones who model this accurately? If they can do it why not others?

I not even to sure about thiers?I saw a post in here from Rob @ RealAir stating (when discussing about the differences from the FS9 to FSX Scout/Decathlon Package):Quote:"Previous aircraft for FS9 which could spin and side slip cannot now do so in FSX because of the different architecture of FDE modelling in FSX."Yikes ...that doesn't sound good for the FSX future at all. I'm not sure if this is the same with the SF260 in FSX as well, but it seems like a pretty broad statement.Regards'Garett

I believe Rob was refering to using RealAir FS9 models in FSX. The RealAir FSX models slip and spin correctly in FSX.

>I believe Rob was refering to using RealAir FS9 models in>FSX. The RealAir FSX models slip and spin correctly in FSX.That's correct! As to everyone modeling slips and spins, it's just one of those things you spend years perfecting! This is been one of RealAir's nitches for a long, long time. Other developers might concentrate on other aspects of modeling, considering it's so involved. If I want to do in depth slips and spins, I'll use the RealAir products. If I want to see sensational exterior graphics, I'll probably be looking at a Carenado or Captain Sim airplane; and not be bugged if they don't spin or slip as well as the RealAir. :-hah L.Adamson

Is a person able to move the air file (I think that is what it is called, but not sure) from the RealAir aircraft to another aircraft and have that other aircraft fly like the RealAir model?

>Is a person able to move the air file (I think that is what>it is called, but not sure) from the RealAir aircraft to>another aircraft and have that other aircraft fly like the>RealAir model? That would not be very accurate. I mean, if you want to fly a 747 with slips and spins, it would not be accurate to use the RealAir SF260 flight model with a 747.Your 747 would have a top speed of, oh, 160-180 mph instead of 500-600. Not accurate. There is more to a flight model than slip and spin. Weight, inertia, engines, etc. are in there and are quite different from a/c to a/c.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Well..If you have figured out how to get out of the "garden vairaity" spin (non flat spin) using 1 aircraft.. The process is the same for all the others. Its a nice to have feature.. Definitely not a "must have", IMO.Manny

Yeah I read it, have my settings correct.Today I made a breakthrough LOL!I did get the decathlon to spin woohooBut still can't get the SF260 to go....it kinda mushes to the left or right with left/right rudder, respectively, but just noses down after that...Not sure what's up...
