We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Gamers Nexus did some testing showing 300v wires instead of 150v wires on Igor connector.

The "issue" is trying to pull 600 watts through a small 12 pin connector.  I can see why they want to reduce the connector footprint on these high-wattage cards, but that connector is to carry 9.2 amps per pin, with a reduced pin to pin separation.  So even if they design a right-angle connector and do better than typical QA it still seems to be an area of concern.

Not really. Its the damage that occurs to the soldered connection between foil busbar and cable. Manipulation can weaken the soldered joint. Likely scenario is a weakened thus thinner connection and thus heat generated. Its only occurring with a small number of the adapters, not the dedicated cable it seems.

Advice on using that cable...

So it is with 4090 and 4080 cards this is a problem. Are there any other cards for which this is an issue ?

Finally someone melted and several cables.

Any cable can be melted. It is a mixture of bad design and user failure.

I've already posted the Gamers Nexus video.

The bottom line seems to be make sure the connector is fully inserted
