Both COMMs INOP in certain mission (Denali)

Recommended Posts

Is that supposed to be this way?

Both COM1 and COM2 are not lighting up, though NAVs do. Can't change the frequencies either. Resetting the plane fixes this, but it resets payload, so 😦

Teleporting to the other airfield also fixes this, but that requires playing with mission edit on.

This happens in Denali Base Camp Charter. Anyone know what in the mission can cause this?spacer.png

If you start the Mission with any other aircraft, do you get the same results with the comms?  Is this Denali Base Camp Mission native to your FSX installation or something you have downloaded?

Same happens if I start with other aircraft, but if I change it through the top menu then the new aircraft have it's coms working.

The mission is standard and came with the FSX.

OK, that is starting to narrow it down!  I never had that Mission in my FSX Standard, so can I safely assume this is not how it is suppose to start?  It looks like something has changed the Mission, somehow,  Have you deleted any default aircraft from your Sim?  Has this Mission performed correctly before now?

Are you using FSX Disc version or FSX-SE?

I haven't deleted any aircraft and, honestly, can't remember if it worked properly before >_<

The mission doesn't require using them, so maybe they were always broken, but nowadays I just wanted to announce taxi/takeoff for realism sake

You didn't answer whether FSX disc version or FSX-SE!  If it's the Steam edition, it's easy to repair any corrupted files.  Disc version ain't so easy.

So you already went through this routine and no change to what's going on?

To verify your game files please do the following:

1. Load the Steam platform and log into your account
2. Click the Library tab in the menu at the top of the screen
3. Click the List View from the view options on the top right of the screen
4. Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition to bring up a popup menu
5. Click on Properties from the popup menu to bring up another popup box
6. Click on Local files from the popup box menu
7. Click on Verify integrity of game cache from the Local file options
8. Wait for the progress bar to finish verifying your files. Additional files may download
9. Restart Steam
10. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

This is interesting!   https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?155620-Denali-Mission-Quazi-Spoiler&highlight=Denali+Mission
