Historical would be good, but I am not touching any weather add-ons that can only inject "Global" weather, so may be a while or possibly never....

Pure spam and money grab. It brings nothing to the table and does nothing. xE on XP11 was a disaster and Magnus was rude to us "users" whenever you talk negative about xE. It is one of the few addons that I regret buying on XP11 and I guarantee it will be the same on MSFS.

And honestly, why on earth, giving up on a cutting edge MSFS's default weather and go back 10years with all those injection based weather applications?

During the years I used XP11 I never could see the appeal of XE. I used Active Sky and a product I can't remember the name of for visual appearance. Also - I have REX WF, but rarely use it due to the transitions.

oh, if it only injects global weather, this is not interesting at all, even with historical weather, indeed.

Yes, I have thoughts, but since this is a family-friendly forum I’ll just state that there’s no way that I will throw 42$ their way so that they can continue developing for XP …

I bought XE for X plane 11 some years ago. It was the most pointless c£70! that I’d spent up to at the time, but luckily i don’t feel the need for this now in MSFS. 
Having said that I’d like to hear from anyone using MSFS who’s actually bought it, and what their thoughts are. 
 

I’m conscious having not bought it myself I really have nothing much to say about either the product or the company.

What's most important to me is the weather at the airports I fly to- are they pretty close to the metar?  Especially cloud bases and visibility.  Sometimes I only fly to an airport to shoot approaches down to or close to minimums. Second is winds aloft - how accurate are they?  Popping/shifting weather is a slight concern but if it's only occasionally then it's not an issue for me.

I dropped nearly $70 for it way back in XP11. It never delivered on its promises for me, at least. Not a good investment.

Updates were slow and performance was poor. It did make improvements to the look and feel of the weather but the performance hit was way too much.

Historical weather would be the USP for the product but it appears it only goes back to 16th of this month.

The release of Xenviro for MSFS will be a textbook example of a "failed release", in which the developers were pretty much "hoisted with their own petard".

Looking at side by side comparisons, MSFS wins all the way. 

In addition, it pretty much does what RWF does already. Both are subject to the same limitations. 

Taken together with the, shall we say, uneven relationships with customers that the company has "cultivated" over the years, makes this definitely a no-buy for me. 

Whether the promised "historical weather" features offsets those issues is for simmers to decide. 

I'd be interested in historical weather, too, but not at the price of hacking into MSFS. I've been more in some MSFS beta than not during the last months. In general, those addons are not working with betas.

As a starter, does anyone know it xEnviro is working with the present SU11 beta?

And by the way, looking at the comments in Facebook, FSElite and the video that was deleted by Q8Pilot, there is a huge hate towards xE, way worse than REX weather engine, it is mainly due to the "rude" attitude of Magnus, how he really burned all the bridges with the users and now xE officially have "bad reputation" among the flight sim community.

This is a reminder for every third party developer, don't be arrogant or all the bridges will be burned (Aerosoft and Hartman I am looking at you)

My question is, for other METAR based products like XEnviro, that the comment above mentions, what happens when you leave the radius covered by METAR? In MSFS live weather, MetoBlue takes over after you leave the radius covered by METAR. But what do METAR based products like XEnviro do when you leave the radius covered by METAR?

If it was a free add on, I still wouldn't be interested in it.

I would guess global or maybe in radius, just like what we had in P3D and XP
