MIAMI AND LONDON GATWICK AIRPORTS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been experiencing a very strange problem with my AI traffic for quite a while now without being able to find a solution. I enjoy watching my beautiful virtual planes at many airports around the world and I could spend hours watching the planes landing and taking-off, circulating on the taxiways and the tarmac.

Everything is working fine except at two airports, which are Miami Int'l (KMIA) and London Gatwick (EGKK). For a reason that I ignore, all my planes turn gray after 5 or 10 minutes of spotting at these airports. I've tested other airports in Florida (KFLL and KMCO) as well as in England (EGLL and EGSS) and everything's fine. My question is simple: Why only these two airports??? I've visited several other airports in the world and my planes are perfect. I've tried to change the scenery in Miami to see if it would make a difference, but without success. Is it possible that the scenery causes this problem? Since it works fine at all the other airports indicate that my video card is not the cause of this problem. Any kind of help would be highly appreciated because I find it quite frustrating not being able to enjoy these two airports.

Please help me fix this problem and find a solution to this annoying issue. I thank you in advance for your comments and advice and look forward to reading your replies.

Have a great day!

Problems like this are usually very time consuming to resolve :(

There is presumably a specific characteristic at each of the problematic airfields that is absent (or hasn't yet been noticed) anywhere else.

First I'd compare the ai traffic at each airfield for any similarities and isolate those. It's possible one of the models you're using for ai has a "memory leak" and is gobbling resources whilst it's just parked. You could try different times of the day or night, ie. when the cause may have flown elsewhere, and see if the problem still exists. Alternatively, if you have London/Miami ai it could be instructional to disable that initially.

Good luck :)

If changing the scenery doesn't work, it's probably AI. If you don't feel yet like isolating the traffic to find the offending one, try checking your Aircraft folder with DXTFixerX:

Make sure DXTFixerX is not set as read-only, and after it finishes, try spotting again.

Thank you so much Chris and Luis for taking the time to reply to my post. I'm using DXTFixerX v2.3 on a regular basis, but I did not go to Miami or Gatwick to check if the planes are OK. I'll do it now just to see, hoping for the best. I know that solving this problem will require time and patience, but I'll try my best.

Best regards
