Very nice.

But does WASM for the likes of the PMDG DC6 run on Linux, Mac or XBOX yet? If not, maybe they should prioritise systems people actually have rather than trying to prop up a dead brand that is facing the final nail in the coffin come December.

MSFS is not for Linux or Mac users, which make up a very small fraction of gamers' desktop OSes.

This "final nail in the coffin" you've been yammering about for months now:

Would you care to put your money where your mouth is? I'll bet you $100 that MSFS is still going full steam ahead come January 1, 2023.

ETA: We can meet in a VC in the X-Plane Discord (friendly territory for you, certainly,) where God and everyone else can be witness to the bet.

I can't even begin to guess what possessed them to write it in the first place, let alone how it got past legal and into the public domain.

ROFL "whereas in other simulators", omg that is some quality editing there.

Seriously. It was truly cowardly slander, both before and after. A blatant attempt at swiping 3rd party devs.

I can see it though, coming from a bunch of video game devs, bless their hearts. They knew that they were going up against technical superiority.

Good for them that eye candy wins the day on xbox!

MSFS is not for Linux

It does actually work on Linux. Mostly. You can thank Valve for that, who also really don't like M$....

Per mSpark's previous comment, SU12 still comes out early next year, so that much is booked. Beyond that the calendar is curiously empty.

I'll offer you the same wager, should you care to take me up on it. I'll even extend the time frame to end of Q2 2023.

You in?

The always do it like that....

And whatever that Asobo funding article was that was quoted above, well, for one its almost 2 years out of date, and two, I wouldn't take it with any confidence because they can not even spell properly!

Anyways, what does it all have to do with XP12 anyways?

No, they don't. The first couple years of calendar have been well filled in, well ahead of time, most of the time. This is unique.

They received funding 2 years ago, correct. Short of a new article of the same flavor, announcing new cash injection, it's lights out (or severely dimmed) and Asobo will move on to other games.

No thank you, ma'am/sir. I'm not a gambler. Part of why I stick w/ XP!

This thread is about XP12, but since MFS is, strangely, being mentioned 🙂  I have to express my thoughts too about that great flightsim:

- given the investment they're making in development, I really don't expect anywhere near the same fate for MFS tha MS FLIGHT did have.

I'm really looking forward to be able to continue using both for as long as I can ( heheheh, which isn't usually that long 😜 )

Most successful “launch” with no further context says nothing

reminds me of NVidia's Jensen Huang back in 2020: "the Ampere RTX 3090 launch was the most successful ever", except that nobody could order one from 3rd party board manufacturers, let alone NVidia's own founders edition. history repeats itself 2 years later again with their RTX 4090.

given the lack of 3rd party support due to declining sales, I really don't expect xplane12 anywhere near the same fate that MSFS did have and still has. 😀

Prices are reflecting the market change already. The new XP 12 AFL Cessna 172 is 50 bucks and we all know the 115 bucks business jet. I'm wondering what price Flight Factor are going to ask for their new releases (should there be any).

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

Never read so much rubbish before, and I’ve seen a lot here in Avsim too.

Good grief, so many people like yourself frequent the XP forum and talk about MSFS!  I like many other will use multiple sims and get the best out of each of them.  I haven't been in MSFS much since the public beta release of XP12, yet you won't find me in an MSFS forum slating it - its a good sim!

So now lets us all remember who started the conversation about MSFS in this thread....see below

On 11/6/2022 at 2:22 PM, MrBitstFlyer said:

I have used MSFS since release, but have more or less moved over to XP12.  The reason is the ortho available is better quality than in MSFS.  Add to that SimHeaven X-World, Global Forests V2 and the fantastic new lighting model to give more convincing real to life graphics imho.

And here we have it, posters like you want to make reference and comparisons to MSFS, then when someone challenges your comments or point out XPs shortcomings, you then want to play the blame game about someone coming in "here" to talk about MSFS or label them as haters.

Who brought up MSFS in this thread??? You did.

This is the hypocrisy that runs wild through this sub-forum. You want the safe haven of praising XP over MSFS, then you want to claim ownership of the forum by saying that anyone who challenges your comments are "outsiders" coming in here to talk about MSFS or haters.

You can't have it both ways...you might want to ask yourselves why XP fans and Austin himself always has to make reference to MSFS (even indireclty) to somehow make XP look better than what it is.

Good Grief...
