I’d think, how great a shape I’d be in if all the simming time was spent exercising, or how many languages I could speak if I spent the same time studying, etc. Truth be told, there’s a lot worse ways to waste time than simming. At least you’re learning a little about geography, meteorology, flight procedures, and it keeps you thinking. It’s definitely not at bad as just sitting around watching tv or spending the same amount of time at the pub drinking beer or alcohol. 😂😂 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

November 11, 20223 yr Take off with the Cessna from 36 at Miegs and 'try' to land on runway 28R at O'Hare which is the first thing I ever tried to do in Flight Simulator (Flightsim 3 in 1989). I crashed many times trying as using keyboard controls on a computer not quite up to the task was challenging to say the least. I loved it though. 🙂
November 11, 20223 yr After tonight's Indiana University men's basketball game, a win with a 50+ point margin of victory, I will fly a Hjet factory loaner back to the factory at Greensboro, NC, (KGSO), to pick up my personal Hjet after its initial 100 hours factory checkup, maintenance and upgrade service. Upon picking up my Hjet, N501P, I will fly back to Bloomington, Indiana, for the nationally 12th ranked Indiana University women's evening basketball game! November 11, 20223 yr Nothing in particular. As I have read up, the first flightsim was released some years prior, ableit on a different platform than Microsoft. These 40 years might be important for Microsoft (or their Marketing Department), but it doesn't mean much to me, tbh. It's quite an interesting achieement however, that the company has such a long lasting 'franchise'. I will install the update of course. Looking forward to the A310 and helicopters. It's almost unbelievable that FS got to this level one day. I dreamed about having something not even this great & good, and now it's true... Strange I must say when I think about it at times. Even the quirks I keep noticing with the aerodynamics and systems modelling aren't enough to make me consider it's not worth the use and abuse. MFS has provided me simply the most true to "real" experiences when simulating airline operations. If I wasn't so tired every night when I arrive home I would have explored it at least as much as I did when I started being able to make long distance flights in a flight sim, restarting with fs9 and Aerowinx PS1, after several year away from THALION SOFTWARE A320, ATP Rev D and AS2 🙂 My first situation load will have one of the rotaries, then a glider, then, maybe the historical aircraft. I'll leave the A310 for sunday 🙂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MFS !!!!
