Livery priority setting

Recommended Posts

I have been using PSXS for several years enjoying the real life air traffic especially at airports. My question is: is the logic still there that e.g. Livery folder 1 will be used used first when searching for matching  liveries and if there is no livery match it will automatically take Livery folder 2 and then 3 etc.

Hi,

Thx for using PSXT, I'm, glad you like it.

About your question: no that logic was removed about a year ago.

Now if there are more liveries from different folders that fit, PSXT will choose randomly. There is one major exception: if there are two liveries with the same registration code in offline registration code files, PSXT will, in step 1, take the livery with the title that is less alphabetically speaking, so it priorizes liveries starting with "AIG" over ones starting with "FSLTL", which is because AIG livereis have a lower impact on fps.

I thought I read somewhere recently in this sub-forum that in parameters.xml, lfolder1 gives a higher priority than liveries in lfolder0, etc. (Similarly, afolder1 is a higher priority than afolder0).
Is that not the case?

If it is possible, I would like to see this logic back, as I would prefer to choose the FSLTL models at night compared to AIG model aircraft lights and swap them back for daytime flying.
Plus, although it's not simple, there is now a method to reduce the file sizes for FSLTL (my fsltl-traffic-base folder is now only 5.87 GB as I've resized the textures to 2048 * 2048).

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D; MSI RTX 3080 Ti VENTUS 3X; 32GB Corsair 3200 MHz; ASUS VG35VQ 35" (3440 x 1440)
Fulcrum One yoke; Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Airbus edition; MFG Crosswind rudder pedals; CPFlight MCP 737; Logitech FIP x3; TrackIR

MSFS; Fenix A320; A2A PA-24; HPG H145; PMDG 737-600; AIG; RealTraffic; PSXTraffic; FSiPanel; REX AccuSeason Adv; FSDT GSX Pro; FS2Crew RAAS Pro; FS-ATC Chatter

No, that's not the case, except for inline  registration codes, then only the first one found will be stored.

No, I have no plans to do so.

The AIG aircraft provide much better matching of (livery-)paints because of the about 17.000 registration codes PSXT knows in the offline regcode files (data\regcodesAIG).

The FSLTL liveries lack registration codes, and there no offline registration code files available...

Maybe if the FSTraffic models and liveries turn out to be  interesting to use, I'll bring the priority feature back in.
