It's also the first time in a very long time that I have stuttering in MSFS.

I run a mediocre PC (with appropriate settings) and it was always smooth. It no longer is.

I guess the high server load could be an issue. Hopefully next weekend when I have time again to fly, it wil be less people flying than this weekend.

my African sceneries for MSFS : https://darshonaut.blogspot.com/p/msfs-2020.html

I am also in the same boat. Performance is not for the better at the moment. I noticed the VRAM in NVI was close to 11gb in the PMDG736 at ENTC payware and this always leads to fps drop

Well this weekend was all about reinstall sim.

Thanks for all your testing and the graph.. I have done a lot of testing to. Am going to go fly am tired of all this testing and tweaking. I'll just deal with the stutters.

If you haven't tried it yet just go into and stay in OFFLINE mode for now.  Here's what the PMDG 738 looks like from gate to 21 minutes into the flight: total smooth perfection:  this is what perfection looks like to CapFrameX, and to my eyes as well:

This sim is beautiful but plagued with performance loss. I stopped trying to find "nirvana" and just turn most settings down.

Then I am wrong. Stutters will happen on approach and almost freeze the sim. Then I try again haha

Hey Noel,

I was going to say that I wouldn't worry too much. I have seen similar performance issues for a couple of days following the last couple of sim updates, it normally clears after a day or two. I am just getting to the update now so will see what the sim looks like hopefully in around 30 mins or so

I think you're right Rich.  There may be an issue with this update:  Feature update to Windows 10, version 21H2 which I had installed just before SU11, performance was very bad, I uninstalled it and it improved by 50% or so, so I am reinstalling to verify and will test later tonight.  That is the one that has caused some issues for some Win 11 users.

Make sure you do this after running the update Noel,

I have been running Win 22H2 for several weeks with zero issues. I just finished the update and hopped in the Fenix, performance looks great. No issues or stutters

There are various problems causing performance loss / stuttering at the moment...  Windows update debug code running accidentally, server issues, even a rogue Nvidia service.

I saw that AvAngel and TwoToneMurphy we having the same server issues last night.in their videos, and they acknowledged the issue.

I don't think any of these are an inherent SU11 problem.  I ran the beta from day one and it is the best performance I have had.
The only issue I have now is server related (disconnection / reconnection).  No doubt they will be getting hammered for a while until things calm down.
I bet virtually everyone is flying and trying the new aircraft, etc.

This morning's repeat flight KBZN KDEN PMDG 738 is looking much better w/ frametimes starting to be very close to pre update and that is in online mode. Just in time for a new display that is supposed to arrive today ;o)

Nice!  What display?

As with any other update - the amount of downloads plays havoc with servers and degrades performance.   MSFT appears to have a handle on it now.  I concur that things look better now.

Our friend Cpt_Piett kindly did a frametime capture on his Gsync (w/ hardware module) display and we learned frametime w/ Gsync and no frame lock exhibited very low frametime variability--not quite what I get w/ RTSS framerate limit w/ Front Edge Sync, but close enough.  For me the benefit will be losing the tearline that comes w/ RTSS limit and also will let the engine run unlocked and because of the low FTV will still have smooth animation w/ variable frame rate.  Plus the screen I bought is Gsync Ultimate so has HDR 600 as part of its hardware module.  Sometime hopefully today if it arrives will have the opportunity to see if it's true w/ this display:  that indeed FTV values are ultra low.  If not, I will happily repackage it and return it!  Since we have had issues w/ stutter-free performance from server issues presumably I will do the acid test in OFFLINE MODE where we should expect to see best possible FTV eliminating server side issues to confound the interpretation.

This one:  LG 34GP950G-B 34 Inch Ultragear QHD (3440 x 1440) Nano IPS Curved Gaming Monitor with 1ms Response Time and 144HZ Refresh Rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate with Tilt/Height Adjustable Stand - Black

Scratch that, reverse it!  The price dropped another $100 so just cx the order and ordered at the new price--so won't be here for another 4-5 days or so.

The Windows Feature update to 22H2, is that faulty on Windows 10 as well? I thought it was a Win 11 problem?

Windows 10, version 21H2 I can confirm is not problematic in my system at the moment.  I thought it might be but pretty sure it was server issues that were the culprit.

I can't find anything conclusive.  It has been widely reported on W11, but then some of the components might be common to W10 as well.  Lets face it, W11 is more or less W10.5
