Recommended Posts

For those who do not follow the bird updates.

Cessna 414AW Chancellor Version 3.4.0 is available to download.

V 3.4.0  (FSW and SIMMARKET ONLY) 11/17/22

UPDATES:

1. Flight dynamics was updated to increase performace for turbulent weather so the autopilot can maintain altitude. The display for the GFC600 altitude also is updated to show the captured altitude even if the aircraft deviates.

2. The tablet checklist pages have been updated to fix typos.

3. The HSI GSI needle was not visible at night. Fixed.

4. The autopilot's nav button for the GNS530 panel will now work with the new working title GNS530 beta package.

Great aircraft,   side note: I HATE the way it's liveries are packaged with every possible GPS combination.    I use the PMS GTN 750,   but every 414 livery also comes packaged with a TDS 750 livery.   Using the plane requires me to sort through 15 liveries to find one.

Delete from simobjects/airplanes/ flysimware cessna folder the models and panels that you not fly, and edit the aircraft.config an delete the entries that correspond to the deleted models. Works nice to me.

Me too. Leaves me with just two to choose from.

My understanding is WT currently recommends this approach over being able to select different a/c panels in a tablet, for example.

Also, you will note the different C414 panels (at least the default ones) are arranged in order, first the GNS 530 liveries, then the PMS50 liveries, then the TDS liveries. So it only takes me a few seconds to find the panel/livery I want.  I don't use addon liveries, however.

You can skip the first two steps... just edit the aircraft.cfg file.  Renumber the FLTSIM entries after, starting with zero.

Did they fix the issue with the manifold pressure wavering above 10,000'?

Flown this airplane probably 30 hours, never seen that before.

One thing you have to watch is that so many of the 414 liveries on FS.to are from an older version of the model with a different file structure and older paint kit.  They aren't compatible.

I wish the author would update this livery for the new paint kit,   https://flightsim.to/file/30137/flysimware-cessna-414aw-chancellor-john-player-team-lotus-g-prix

You can do this yourself.. in 5 minutes or less.

Open the aircraft.cfg and texture.cfg files and change any C414A references to C414AW.

Like so:

[VARIATION]
base_container = "..\flysimware_Cessna_414AW"

[FLTSIM.0]
Title="Cessna 414AW John Player Lotus Team GTN750XI"
Model="\..\..\flysimware_Cessna_414AW\model.GTN750XI"
Panel="\..\..\flysimware_Cessna_414AW\panel.GTN750XI"
Sound="\..\..\flysimware_Cessna_414AW\sound"

and..

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\..\flysimware_Cessna_414AW\texture
fallback.2=..\..\..\..texture.base

I feel your pain. Try the Kodiak.  It comes with 40.  These developers really need to give some choices during installation.

This worked,  but without the NXI text,   Gave me the PMS GTN 750,  and looks friggin awesome.

I think the GTN750NXI  line calls the TDS GTN750 instead of the PMS GTN 750 which I have.

Left in the FLTSIM entry for the pms GNX530,  but that didn't seem to give me a livery option with the 530.  Then again,  I uninstalled the PMS 530 and installed the WT 530,   so I doubt the two 530's use the same file the same file name.

Need to find out what the WT 530 is referred to.

This gives me the GTN 750,  and the GNS 530 / Bendix weather radar option.   "AS530",   instead of "GNS530".
