What is good with this deal is that Steam has regional prices allowing users globally to afford the purchase.
And contrary to what was said initially you do get a free XP11 licence with it too.

hhmm, I was considering a steam purchase today because it's on sale, but after installing the free trial today I am wondering: are these cloud ziggy-zaggies normal? latest beta 12.0.0.51, Windows 10, RTX 3090?

after I saved the current FLIGHT and left the menu to continue flight and changing views x-plane 12 crashed, after only some 3 minutes into the default flight from KPDX in the Citation. I have no interest to participate in any sort of beta testing, is it still that unstable?

Best to wait it out then unless you want to take advantage of this sale and park XP12 for a few months until most bugs are ironed out

anybody knows are these zigzag artefacts normal due to beta status or can be avoided via graphics settings?

"unless you want to take advantage of this sale"

It'll be on sale again. Hopefully next time (around Christmas,) even more bugs will be ironed out and squashed.

If it ain't fixed by then, well, there's always the "Spring Sale" around Easter on Steam. They also have a "Summer Sale" around Independence Day (USA Independence, July 4.)

I got a message from Goran who suggested my NVidia driver needed an update, which I now updated to v 526.98. and so far so good.
