Aircraft and Avionics Beta: The 700 Longitude Is A Blast

Featured Replies

Been enjoying it. Massive kudos to Matt and the team. From such a let down that was the initial release of this plane…to the great work of the modders for the FDE mod and WT g3000 mod to now come full circle with an amazing beta release. WT is doing the lord’s work.

Let's face it, if you're updating the avionics yet leave out the HUD that's a little lack luster.

The HUD is not operational or certified on the real Longitude. Last I heard it was supposed to become so some time next year, at the earliest. We'll definitely consider it at that time.

it and the TBM were the first two planes I used for a good 6 months early on.  Did the default plane get upgraded by Asobo so I don't need to install anything else?

Same here. I just hopped in the TBM for the first time in probably 10 months and it felt great. Avionics are awesome now, flight model felt better than I remembered and the front/cargo doors even open on the default plane now. As long as you're in the beta the latest update includes these upgrades, so remove any add-ons you might have that could cause conflict (like the TBM improvement mod).

I'll be impressed if they make the HUD functional on top of all the avionics upgrade.😶  Let's face it, if you're updating the avionics yet leave out the HUD that's a little lack luster.

Why, when this is just a start, and the real aircraft cant use the HUD yet?

You know what, the WT guys didn't have to bother doing anything.  Your comments seem to be a little out of whack and ungrateful lately.

I am sure that 'lack luster' comment in particular will be received with some disappointment after everything these guys are doing to improve the sim.

But hey-ho!  Maybe these are the kind of comments from people that get attracted to a 'one size fits all' sim, as you called it recently.

If you're calling AAU1 "lackluster", then I don't know what to tell you.

To me, AAU1 is the most significant official upgrade in the 2+ years MSFS has been out.

This airplane is now truly a "study level" business jet. --> Spent about 45 minutes entering the flight plan and setting everything up. Something to keep in mind is that the vspeeds wont show until the flaps are lowered to the take off position.

The relevant page on the MFD will tell you what you've done and what you still need to do --> kind of like an electronic checklist.

I tripped up on the approach procedure, because I accidentally hit the load and activate button, which meant that the plane headed straight to the iaf when I engaged the ap and lateral nav kicked in.

Back to the manuals.....

Is it possible to buy just this plane only or do I have to upgrade to the premium deluxe msfs ?

thanks

I'm afraid you would have to specifically upgrade to Premium Deluxe.

You cannot buy it separately, but I went straight in at the top level premium deluxe, and I have never regretted it. I think it is worth it.
The upgrade was worth it just for the classic (steam gauge) C172 in my opinion.
Although I have the WB upgrade for that since, it flew quite well straight out of the bag anyway.

Did a flight last night and it's like a completely different aircraft. Nearly everything is functional and I spent the whole cruise just messing around with the avionics. So cool being able to monitor stuff like the electrical or bleed air systems while bringing the APU online, starting the engines and resetting the generators after start.

My only complaints:

1. The herky jerky vertical actions with the autopilot - when transitioning to different speed restrictions it will abruptly level off to gain speed.

2. I hope they model the cabin in the exterior model so I can't see right through the passenger cabin windows at certain exterior angles.

It would be also welcome the addition of doors animations. A missing feature on all default MSFS aircraft.

Cheers, Ed
