Increased frame rates

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, A note on a combination of changes to my system that have significantly improved frame rates:1. Update BIOS.The manufacturer of my motherboard recently released a new version of the BIOS. Note: return BIOS settings to default before flashing the new version!http://evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=778622. Update graphics card driver.nVidia recently released new (162.18) drivers for my GPU:http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_162.18.html3. Update DirectX.A new version was released on July 31, 2007http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en4. Overclock the CPU (just a little).A recipe for overclocking 680i motherboards is here:http://evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=611465. Delete FSX.cfg and let FSX make a new one. After doing 1-4, you will want to make sure FSX doesn't have any old settings.Result: maybe 5 fps on my system.Cheers,Noel.
