Hi Noel, so rtx 4090 suprim x video card, 13900k CPU, Sony oled a80j 120hz tv (but I can't connect it to 120hz but only to 60hz, I connected the hdmi 2.1 cable to the right output that supports 120hz but nothing) and in case I don't know the tv that supports level of v or g sync, while in msfs i use the vertical frame limiter at 100% of the tv, so let's say that with the fps player when i'm at high altitude i'm always stuck at 60 fps...

Is it better or faster than if I put SO on one m2 and msfs on another m2? This will be a 99x100 pc just for msfs, so I won't put up any other programs or stuff. Yes, I could also do this, I would kindly like to understand why it's better this way though, thank you very much for your interest in my question! I have just installed Windows and MSFS on the same 2TB m2. Previously I had MSFS and P3D on separate drives to the OS. Since doing this I've reinstalled all my add-ons and MSFS starts very quickly. The big difference this time is I'm not getting hung startups (was about 1 in 3) and regular CTDs in-game like I was before. This time I decided to go with all the default install locations for everything and, so far, it works a treat. Obviously I can't say for sure the better performance is due to their install locations but I couldn't put it down to just my MB/CPU change either. That's my experience so far.

For now I prefer to continue flying with the TV, then maybe in the future I could try VR, only that before buying VR, given the costs, I would like to try it and see how it looks for me .... 8 hours ago, Steve_mac said: I have just installed Windows and MSFS on the same 2TB m2. Hi, thank you for your consideration! In the end I decided to install the OS on an m2 and msfs on another m2, being the first time I've installed it and I play with it, I can say that it's very fast, but I have no terms of comparison. At most I could time it in seconds to see how fast it is or not. I think I did well to put them separate because at the moment only for msfs I have already occupied 270gb without having put paid airport addons, only the first ten world updates and 737 pmdg. Having two m2 of 1tb each I was also a little afraid to put everything on one m2 they still didn't fit because the space might not be enough.
January 10, 20233 yr Author Good morning, I have a question for you, I always prefer here and not to open a new post. I'm new to msfs, but not to fsx, but now I use msfs with 4090 and 13900, all ultra and lod 200 tlod 400 and with 737 pmdg, 4k, TAA, real traffic, real weather, runs pretty good without FG, I'm cruising at a fixed 60 fps and in the most demanding airports on the 35 40, so good. But there's just one thing I don't understand, the clouds! Why do many clouds appear in lumps? They look like they're fermenting and they're all made up of little dots, they're not pretty fluffy and smooth. I seem to have fsx-like clouds. How is it possible? Perhaps there is some setting I should try to change in the Nvidia or Windows panel settings? I don't think it's due to the type of cloud, because in all daytime flights, so with light I always see these ugly clouds! Mostly they are the ones furthest away from me. What do you recommend I try or change to change this thing? Very Thanks to all!! Stefano
January 18, 20233 yr Author Good evening everyone, I need your advice and explanation. I noticed that after about an hour and a half of flight several times it happens to me that I have a gradual collapse of fps, from 50 60 fixed I go down to 25, how is it possible? I notice that the gpu falls asleep and barely works. I have read that it happens to several but recently I have not read anything. Could someone kindly give me some help? Every two flights for about 40 minutes I am forced to turn off and on the PC to return to flight. How can I do this? What happens for which there is this collapse of fps? Thank you very much to those who can give me some advice

I'd also suggest in nVidia control panel, "Prefer Maximum Performance" Also -- as to the clouds grainy issue from your older post -- I would Google "usercfg.opt" and "Filmgrain" post-processing area of that file. Some people have reported the grainy / pixellated clouds thing you described, and that was one of the things that seemed to help. One question, but how do I figure out what my nutrition plan is? I know for sure that I have game mode enabled in Windows, but I don't know where to see about the power supply. Yes, regarding Nvidia, I have selected the performance mode. Thank you very much also for giving me the advice on the clouds, I just don't really know what to change on the cfg file and I don't want to tell me, unless I know exactly what to change. Thanks again so much for your advice. Looking forward to more of your advice, thank you!!

Windows 10 power plan settings:https://devblogs.microsoft.com/windows-music-dev/quickly-switching-your-power-plan-on-windows-10/ And as for the clouds, like I said, Google usercfg.opt and Filmgrain, and it should pull search results from AVSIM about that, or on other sites. Basically you edit (using Notepad++, I'd recommend) the usercfg.opt Post Processing area to change Filmgrain from a 0 to 1 or 1 to 0, then see how the clouds look. That is just one suggestion. There will be many more in the threads you find. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

Yes, this afternoon I first try to see the power plan as it is set, and then see if I continue to drop the fps after a few flights. Then yes thanks, how to solve this problem I do some tests with the clouds, you gave me an idea, thanks! Regarding the fps drop after an hour or more of flight, does anyone have the same problem? Could you give me some other advice or what to change?
