MSFS2020 Graphics Settings

Recommended Posts

Hello Simmers!

First off all i wish merry christmas to you guys

I need an advice os the best graphics settings for my MSFS2020. I have an high end build and i think that the graphics are not great at all.

My build is in my signature

I think that this is a pretty good machine but my FPS are betwen 25-35 and i don't like the aspect of the sim. Can you guys give me some advices? Sim graphics settings? Nvidia settings? What can i do to have more FPS and more beautiful image.

Thank you all.

Which GPU do you have Ricardo? It must be AMD since your screen is Free-sync compatible?  Have a look at my hardware in my sig:  I have perfectly liquid smooth animation with virtually zero stutters anywhere, in any plane from gate to gate.  All Ultra except Terrain LOD which I have to keep around 120-150.  With your 12700K that should get up to 200 or so in the complex airliners, like PMDG/Fenix.

System:  7800x3D, Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, Noctua NH-U12A, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Edge Sync for near zero Frame Time Variance achieving ultra-fluid animation at lower frame rates.

Aircraft used in A Pilot's Life V2:  PMDG 738, Aerosoft CRJ700, FBW A320nx, WT 787X

Interesting!  I think your monitor only is capable of Free-sync, not Gsync, yes?

Yes, it's only Free Sync.

Your machine is completely sufficient to deliver absolutely fluid animation anywhere, in any plane!  This is a very critical piece:  there are two basic pathways towards ultra smooth animation:  fast frame rates, or ultra low frame time variance which allows you to run at frame rates you can maintain anywhere and have superior animation than a frame rate of say 50 w/o ultra low FTV.

If you want to work on this let's do it privately for now and see how it goes for you.

I've always used this as a general guide and then tweaked a few things from there.

If you're not willing to lock your FPS at 30 (or something similar) you may want to disregard this.  I always lock at 30 and have been extremely happy with my performance on a system that is BELOW "high end" by today's standards.
