I had tried this in P3D, forget it. Later I tried it in XP11 with orthos, better, but still underwhelming. When I tried it now in MSFS, I didn’t expect much. Surprise, surprise, but see for yourself.

I take off from Isla San Cristobal

First, I wanted to explore this horseshoe shaped island, but then I spotted something far more interesting right in front of my nose 😉

A very interesting island is Isla Isabela, because of its six coalescing shield volcanoes that make up the island. I was never allowed to tour one of them, but now in MSFS, this is different. This is Aeroporto General Villamil on Isabel island

Our first volcano: Cerro Azul, at the south-west end of Isabela

Volcano Sierra Negra at the south-east end

The Alcedo volcano in the center of Isabela. Its most recent eruption was in 1993, but due to its remote location it was not recorded until two years later

The Darwin volcano, located south of volcano Alceno. It has a large central caldera, nearly 5 km (3 m) in diameter and 200 m deep (700 ft)

Wolf volcano, also known as Mount Whiton, is the highest peak in the Galapagos Islands and reaches 1,710 m (5,610 ft). The volcano was named after Theodor Wolf, a German geologist who studied the Galapagos Islands in the 19th century. It’s located in the north of Isabela and offers us quite a steep drop. Amazing

La Cumbre on Isla Fernandina is the most active volcano of the Galapagos Islands and its peak has an elevation of 1,476 m (4,842 feet). It began erupting again in April 2009 and on June 16th, 2018, after a period of heavy seismic activity, it erupted again. The volcano started erupting one more time on January 12th 2020

Isla Wolf, a small island, also named after the German geologist

That interesting island must have a name too, but I forgot to write it down

A few tiny islands just north of Isla Fernandina

Thanks for viewing and I hope I didn’t bore you too much with this little exploration of mine

A nice tour of an area that is hard to visit, Bernd. Probably we will never get there... At least we have your interesting narration!

A glorious and well narrated tour of the islands Bernd.

Your posts are never boring and a great introduction highlighting the evolution of flight simming.
