July 19, 20232 yr If this is indeed true, which I don’t dispute, then my question is:- When MSFS2024 is released, isn’t that also tied to Xbox? Which means it will be tied to hardware that is several years outdated?

I would say that the under the hood coding for the new sim to utilise more cores would mean PC users won't be tied down, they seem to be making a concerted effort to improve performance that will not only benefit Xbox but PC as well The question is will they improve specific PC graphical settings to go beyond what the Xbox can handle, i.e. giving PC users back the original Ultra Clouds from pre-SU5 before the mass regression. The memory constraints of the Series S remain and I doubt we will have two or more separate branches of development: too expensive, and the next gen XBox is 4-5 years away. There will be improvements of the AI terrain processing and the main thread will be alleviated but I don't expect miracles. We already saw the horizon line bug in the trailer, I wouldn't be surprised if relief morphing and black lines in water are still there as well, at least in the first builds. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

If that is true, which of course we don't know yet; then that is disappointing to say the least.
July 19, 20232 yr ...the truth is that after xbox version release the sim is no more the same, downgraded for sure ...
July 19, 20232 yr Well, the PC version of MSFS was the one featured in the videos posted in this thread. If Asobo focused on improving and updating that single version of the sim, by now we would have an absolute masterpiece. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
July 19, 20232 yr There are so many games available for both consoles and PC in parallel that offer e.g. "ultra" settings only on PC. Why MS/Asobo decided to have exactly the same settings on both consoles and PC remains a mistery to me and THIS is basically the disappointing fact here.
