Adjusting seat position in VC+TrackIR

Recommended Posts

Guest Hawk78

When in virtual cockpit mode and using TrackIR, I often find myself wanting to 'adjust the seat'. In my experience, the default position (after centering TrackIR with F12) is often to low/high or to far back/forward. It seems to depend on what airplane I choose as well. For example, in heli's I tend to want a much lower seat to get a better view of the instruments (without having to slump down in my chair the whole session!)Is there any key commands I can use to adjust? I don't think the eyepoint commands work as TrackIR 'over-rules' them...Any suggestions highly appreciated.

In the aircraft.cfg file there is parameter eyepoint such aseyepoint= -0.5, -0.85, 1.41If I remember correct you change the first paramter to adjust the seat vertically (x axis), the second and third should be sideways (y axis) and the third backward/forward (z axis). You have to reload the aircraft after any change of the file.Hope this helps.Ulf B

I do the same thing as Dark C mentions. I typically hunker down a little bit then hit the reset button (F12...but I have it linked to the trigger button of my CH yoke). That way when I sit up straight I am sitting right where I want to be. It seems like a pain, it is not. Simple. Also, I have the rudder trim on the CH Yoke changed to +/- keyboard commands. This will adjust the VC zoom factor quickly. I constantly change this while I am flying. If I need to really zoom up on an instrument it's on my finger tips.Hope this helps. Bman.

Actually, it is lateral, vertical, longitudinal, where lateral is sideways, and longitudinal is front to back. This is definitely the best way to make permanent adjustments. Also, the auxilliary camera views in the VC are based on this, so they will be adjusted accordingly.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
