FS Traffic released!

Do we have a verdict on FS Traffic with GSX.

Are they playing nice together?

They do, actually quite well and better than AIG... but you have to be mindful of the airport you are going to be - i.e. sim object limitations.  That means, dont put 100% ground vehicles to AI at KJFK, LFPG, or EGLL...

I love Just Flight's Arrow series and Bae 146 jet. Love love love them. This seems out of place for them or maybe they didn't read the market yet.

I remember installing traffic programs for other simulators and it was a very annoying experience.

As if the only thing that really mattered to the developers was the amount of liveries. Meh. I just want to see semi-realistic liveries, decent models, great performance and some general aviation with a VERY easy installation.

FSLTL fits that bill. Easy install. Literally one click. Decent models, decent performance, mostly accurate liveries and you can mod in GA traffic alongside the airliners. Win win win!

I was looking forward to this and bought it because the regional airport I live near and fly out of a lot (KROA) has very little traffic at night, so FSLTL doesn't load anything here when I'm simming at night. But with FS Traffic, traffic is filling all 5 gates. I did add some additional flight plans to ensure it's busy at any time of day. The traffic starts pushing back after about 10 minutes for several planes.

One downside is it's not injecting new traffic after the initial traffic. So as aircraft leave and gates become available, they're not filling up again. That's fine when I'm setting up and departing soon, but I do enjoy just watching the traffic at times, and noticed this issue. I submitted a ticket.

Also I'm not seeing any arrivals.

I tested running FSLTL at the same time. Both seem to be working fine together. I limit frames at 30, and still no problem holding that. So I get the airport traffic I was looking for plus the FSLTL traffic during cruise. I have not tested how FS Traffic does at a destination yet.

Has anyone been able to use fs traffic and AIG at the same time? I have both installed but I have to choose between the two. Thank you

The developer Rich is also the developer of earlier FsTraffic packages for P3D. I remember lots of issues with it and then he was pulled away from the product to help elsewhere. Derek then responded at their forum. Later Rich came back but several issues could not be solved.

In my case I had App crashes when starting FsTraffic. Luckily I only used the ac with PSXT + RT but others only having FsTraffic where less fortunate.

Spotty was one of their nicest features. With and without backpack….

All agreed - as long as you don't want to fly in your own part of the World at night. FSLTL lacks the time shift feature. PSXSeecontraffic (more precisely Real Traffic Pro) does have this, but granted, at a steep subscription cost.

I was urgently loking forward to FSTraffic, but based on these 31 pages I decided to stay with PSXSeecontraffic for now. Even more as this one excels after the former stutters are gone. Plus, I can run it networked, taking a bit of burden from the poor main machine CPU.

Kind regards, Michael

I purchased it, read all of this and didn’t even bother to install it. Frames are no issue here so I just want a working system, so FSLTL remains…

I get that it's your choice and respect that.

However you laid out some coin for it.  Why wouldn't you just install it and try it so you can make your own mind up instead of taking everyone else's word for it?

Only saying this because it works really well for me.  Great models, great performance and I'm getting aircraft on departure, cruise and arrival.

1. The market requires a traffic program.  This is why you have freeware and payware options.

2. Most never found previous traffic programs very annoying,.

Traffic 360 for FSX was solid for me back then, really surprised and disappointed by this latest half baked release from Just Flight.

Going to give them benefit of the doubt they'll have FS Traffic running smoothly within the next couple weeks to a month.

With FS Traffic, departing aircraft don't climb above certain altitudes. This is described as a limitation, on P37 of the manual, because the AI traffic only follow the first instruction given by ATC, e.g., flights departing EGPH only reach 2500 AGL. Is this a limitation of the sim and does it also apply to FSLTL and AIG?

Its not a sim limitation as FSLTL AI climb to appropriate altitude just fine, via FlightRadar24 API they do anyhow. I followed this EJet and clocked it at 250 knots but stuck at 2000ft cruise as you’ve stated. I hope they find a fix for this ASAP. Or passengers might as well take a cruise out of Miami into the Carribean flying that low🤣😂
