Hi,
in every flight I do, the Reverb G2 display/lens will suddenly go black and after a couple of seconds, they recover. I’ve searched for a possible solution and found that it could be related to the sound. Lower it as for the suggestions but did not help. Is anyone reading this with that same problem? Any solution?
Thank you!

No idea if this is related but my TV goes black for a second when it's switching video resolutions.

Had this on my G2 after about 5 months. Started happening after about 40 minutes of use the got progressively more frequent as time went on. Symptoms were; right screen went black quickly followed by left screen then after a few seconds it would come back.  As it got worse it would end up just repeating the sequence making the headset unusable.
unfortunately solution was a replacement headset. Mine was still under warranty.

I had the G2 V2 so had the new cable.

hopefully that helps somewhat.

I've had this periodically....  I also read something about getting a new cable under warranty.  I would have assumed they included it with mine since it was only purchased a few months ago but who knows!

Hi - does it go black or is it more of a grey and fades in and out? The latter can happen if the headset can't track it's position properly. The type of lighting in the room and reflective surfaces in front of the headset can cause it, along with accidentally blocking the view of the cameras.

If it's going totally black, can you say from the pic below which cable/adaptor you have? If it's the one one the right with no power button (old version) which is fussy about the USB ports it's connected to, you could try using a USB hub, internal PCIe USB 3 interface or just a different USB port on the PC.

Is the connection at the headset fully inserted? Pretty sure there's a line marked on the plug that should align with the bezel

Are you still getting this, @Abrupto?

I started getting the exact same thing a few weeks ago.  I assumed it might be the cable (although mine is the G2 V2 with the new one with switch box) and spoke to HP who have sent me a replacement cable.  However, it is still doing it.

It's happening around 30 minutes in, is irrespective of where I'm flying or what I'm flying and goes full black screen for a couple of seconds (the sim is still running).  Then the full picture resumes for the rest of the flight.  I've replicated the flight in 2D and no issue - only in 3D through the Reverb.

My headset is still under warranty for a couple more months.  I can live with this if it gets no worse but if it does get worse am keen to get it sorted before the warranty runs out.  How about you?  Still doing it?  Any more frequently?

Just to add to what I said in earlier post I had this issue with a 5 month old G2 V2 (newer cable as standard) and it was fixed with a replacement headset from HP. The cable itself was not replaced at the time but the problem immediately disappeared as soon as I put the new headset in place.

I was using DCS at the time so it was NOT an MSFS issue for me.

In my case the issue stared happening only occasionally and then progressed to being able to get about 20 minutes before becoming unusable. A restart would get a bit longer but maybe only 5 or 10 minutes use this time.

my replacement has (touch wood) not had a single instance of this issue since then.

It's a weird one.  Definitely still doing it even with the new cable - and exactly the same pattern...20-30 minutes into the flight just for a second and then all back to normal.  I've tried different aircraft, different scenery and even a different driver.  Same pattern.

Over the weekend I'm going to find some time to do a 1.5hr+ flight and see if it repeats the blackout over a longer flight.

If it's just the once in a flight then my advice is to ignore it!  Occasionally I have the same thing, it's almost certainly sim related not the Reverb.

Yes - my feeling too.  That said, I will keep my eye on it over the next month - warranty runs out in early May and it wouldn't be good if it was getting more frequent and me miss that it was getting worse until after then!

I suggest you replace the headset while its under warranty.  I'm having the same blanking issue even with new cable.

It happens no matter what VR game I'm playing, not just MSFS, and is getting worst.  I have a new headset on order as mine is out of warranty by over a year.

That's useful to know.  Thanks.
