Aileron trim - add to an Aircraft that doesn't have one ?e o

Featured Replies

So I have a button box with digital pulse wheels.

I can get A and Ohs to work great with rudder trim, but cannot get aileron trim to work.

Is it possible to basically "fake it" adding it to an addon that doesn't technically have one fitted?

Would it require a mod to the aircraft.cfg file ?

Thnx

I don't use A and Ohs anymore, I use FSUPIC just for only one reason, thou I remember that you can assign a button as an aileron trim. Also, it can be done in MSFS controls menu for that particular controller.
Even for C152, they have enabled an aileron trim, by the way, C152 doesn't have one.
You should be able to do it unless there are other issues.

In most cases these things can be overcome by using RPN scripts in AAO. If it can be done at all, that is the way to go. All those event and variable lists in AAO are just the SDK defaults and a few extras. They will only get you so far. Especially in MSFS the aircraft developers by and large no longer adhere to those standards, they implement their own logics (BVars, LVars, HVars, whatever). So when the default doesn't work, the real work starts - finding out what the aircraft wants and then implementing that in a script.

So it is vital to know what actual aircraft model you are trying to do this with, and what exactly you were trying to do how.

Hi.

Thnx.

So basically if aileron trim isn't supported in an Aircraft it's not possible to find the LVAR etc required to perform the necessary effect ?

Unless... maybe, if you're REALLY clever -- which when it comes to this, I'm not 🤣

Hi.

So do FSUIPC and A & Ohs work in different ways ...  so what may not work in one may work in the other ?

@Gabe777is any specific airplane?
All MSFS stock airplanes support aileron trim function. Either via keyboard or buttons. So we are good there, next option will be to check if that button works, and if it does, the last one is to assign it as you wish.

Re FSUPIC and A & OHS are similar, personally, I was interested in one function that one is missing.
