Well the Rotorua being added is presumedly the NZA freeware that’s already out. The developer of the airport is listed on the right side of the airport name. Edited February 2, 20233 yr by Tuskin38

February 2, 20233 yr There is an Ardmore airport in the works which looks really good from what I have seen of it...not sure whether it's payware or freeware
February 2, 20233 yr Quite sad when the developers can't even be bothered to do a bit of research and spell the locations correctly: Quintin Lodge (not Quinton) ...

February 2, 20233 yr Having watched the live stream, I must admit I won't be *that* disappointed - it looks like they've made an absolutely amazing job of the Caribou. I'll just lash up an RNZAF livery and pretend! Edited February 2, 20233 yr by Adamski_NZ
February 2, 20233 yr Most of the time the "local legend thing has more to do with what Asobo can find out there in world of developers. Connections to the world update being released at the same time seem to be a flexible requirement I agree they should Title such releases as famous flyers but that breaks their obsession with neat continuity in schedules and structure (the same obsession that saw them take 2 years to realise that scheduled updates whilst being neat just resulted in rushed efforts) Edited February 2, 20233 yr by Pathfinder633

February 2, 20233 yr When I used to fly as a young PPL out of Doncaster airfield ,which sadly closed down a long time ago , there was an eccentric elderly lady there who owned and flew a Percival gull. It was a truly beautiful looking machine. 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.
February 2, 20233 yr I actually also thought why are the doing a Caribou its got nothing to do with NZ Jason Richards

However, I am quite disappointed that the DHC-4 Caribou is to be New Zealand's 'local legend' because quite simply, it is not! It has never flown in New Zealand except as an occasional visitor from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). It was certainly a legend in Australian aviation, but is in no way considered any sort of legend in New Zealand aviation. That priviledge belongs to: Jane Gardner Batten CBE OSC (15 September 1909 – 22 November 1982), commonly known as Jean Batten, was a New Zealand aviator, making a number of record-breaking solo flights across the world. She is notable for completing the first solo flight from England to New Zealand in 1936. (wiki). Jean Batten flew a Percival Gull monoplane and was inspired by Kingsford Smiths exploits in the Southern Cross. (Note Southern Cross was the WU Australian 'local legend', and rightly so.) Her aircraft is hanging in Auckland Airport. She is one of aviation's early aviatrix's and her feats in the Percival Gull are legendary not just because she was a New Zealander but because she was a pioneer of aviation of which MSFS is all about. I really thought if there was one time that Jean Batten could get some recognition then a New Zealand update was it. Instead MSFS decide a Canadian Caribou with no history in New Zealand is to be our 'local legend'. What a missed opportunity. Words fail me and I am frankly inconsolable. Read this and I am sure you will agree with me no matter where in the world you come from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Batten Jane definitely seems like an aviation legend to celebrate, but wasn't the Percival Gull a British plane?
