FSX Update for AFG King Air B300 update

Recommended Posts

The other thread was getting kind of long, so I'm starting a new one.I've now updated my update for the AFG B300 so that it uses the FSX default B350 2D panel (as opposed to the FS9 B350 2D Panel). You can download the files I've done to upgrade it for FSX at http://www.flyingscool.com/files/FSX/AFGB300FSX.zipAll the files you need are now included in the update. You can download the original plane including an automated installer from AFG's website at http://www.alliedfsgroup.com. Go to the downloads section, accept the copyright policy, and select the B300 in the right column under Downloads Index. If you are adept at installing files from zip files, you can also download the original aircraft and the 1.01 update from here at avsim http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...+300&CatID=rootBasically,I added a few lines to the fltsim sections, added some cameras and thumbnails to the texture directories, fixed the gauge issues I could figure out, updated the 2D panel to use the default FSX King Air 350 panel, and fixed some typos in the documentation files. All necessary files are included in the download.****The original version of the AFG B300 was designed to use the 2D panels from the default FS9 King Air 350. I've updated the panel files to use the default FSX King Air 350 2D panel. The vc panel was designed using some of the default King Air gauges from FS9, and several of these gauges changed significantly in FSX. The only problem gauge is the Autopilot buttons gauge. At some point I or AFG will create a new gauge so this problem goes away. I included a copy of the kingair.gau file from FS9 to fix this problem (the autopilot buttons looked squished in FSX) (kingairFS9.gau in the panel directory). One problem I am unable to fix - the Master Warning and Caution switches, the clock on the panel, the altitude selector, and the yoke on/off switch on the pilot's yoke do not react to mouse clicks in the VC (they don't even show a hand when you pass over them). It appears to be a modeling issue, and AFG is working on a fix. In the meantime, there is a workaround for the altitude selector panel, the pilot's yoke on/off button, and the Master Warning button:1. The altitude selector is clickable if the view point is moved to a point below the level of the gauge. So a camera was created in which the altitude selector panel is clickable. From the main pilot's view, hit "a" key twice. (thanks Paul Dahlen for this workaround!)2. While the pilot's yoke on/off button isn't clickable, the button behind the yoke that you use to turn the yoke back on again is. So, from the same view that you can click on the altitude selector from, if you rotate to the left and look at the yoke, you can click on the yoke column and it will turn off the pilot's yoke.3. I've added the Master Warning button to the 2D panels, including the main, ifr, and Warning Annunciator panels (Shift-6). Bring up one of these panels and you'll be able to turn off the flashing Master Warning button. AFG is working hard to fix this problem as we speak. Here are some a couple of pics I took in case you haven't seen the release yet - http://www.flyingscool.com/galleries/KASH-...-KROC02-80s.pnghttp://www.flyingscool.com/galleries/KASH-...-KROC05-80s.pngDefinitely check out this airplane if you haven't already done so. The cockpit and systems aren't quite as detailed as the Aeroworx B200, but it's WAYYY better than the default B350, and it works in FSX and is very easy on the frames.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
